Somebody Put Something in My Drink

Somebody Put Something In My Drink
Somebody
Another night out on the street
Stopping for my usual seat
Oh, bartender, please
I don't like anything colored pink
That just stinks...it's not for me
It feels like somebody put something
Somebody put something in my drink
Somebody put something
Somebody put something
Blurred vision and dirty thoughts
Feel (out of place), very distraught
Feel something coming on
Kick the jukebox, slam the floor
Drink, drink, drink, drink some more
I can't think
Hey! What's in this drink?
It feels like somebody put something
Somebody put something in my drink
Somebody put something
Somebody put something in my drink
Somebody put something
Somebody put something in my drink
Somebody put something... in my drink... in my drink... in my drink... in my drink
So you think it's funny
A college prank
Goin' insane for something to drink
Feel a little dry
Oh, I couldn't care what you think of me
Cause somebody put something in my drink
I can't think
Hey! Give me a drink
It feels like somebody put something
Somebody put something in my drink
Somebody put something
Somebody put something in my drink
The lyrics to Farben Lehre's song "Somebody Put Something in My Drink" describe a night out on the town where the singer orders their favorite drink at the bar, a Tanqueray and tonic. However, they begin to feel something is off when their vision becomes blurred and they start having dirty thoughts. They then take more drinks but can't remember what's in them and feel like something has been put in their drink without their knowledge or consent. The singer becomes distressed, feeling like they're going insane, and wonders aloud what's in their drink. They don't care what anyone else thinks because they know that someone put something in their drink.
The song's lyrics depict a situation that is sadly all too common, as people, particularly women, have found themselves drugged at bars, clubs, and parties. The song gives a voice to those who have been victimized in this way, expressing their frustration and fear. The feeling of being out of control and at the mercy of others is palpable in the lyrics, as the singer wonders what has been done to them and "feel[s] something coming on." The song also touches on the societal pressure to continue drinking and not be judged for seeking out something to drink, even when something has clearly gone wrong.
