Chances that you've already seen it are 1 to 52!

that's literally 0.00000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000124%

of course, some configurations are deliberately frequent (like having them all ordered etc.), so some of them still have a greater chance of being seen (at the expense of others, more scrambled ones).

if you had a tiny grain of sand and lost it to a random location on the Earth, it is MUCH more likely you'd find it again, than seeing the same card deck order (or the one you had set out to find), after it was randomly shuffled. if you even try to consider the former doable in a lifetime, the latter isn't by a wide margin, in that same frame of reference.

(for comparison the Earth has roughly 7.5 x 10^18 grains of sand, and 52! = 8.065 x 10^67)

I think it's important to say that there's ALMOST NO pressure here. there's SOME pressure, but you'll hurt your hands and your cards if you actually push firmly when doing this

just learned this from my trial and error practicing

almost all of the actual shuffle action comes from the soft sweeping motion of the corner

@ramibenkemla8924

Every time you shuffle a deck of cards, it is likely that you've come up with an arrangement that has never been seen before in human history.

@pugsnhogz

BK Rami prove it ;)

@patootie3529

Luke Rickford It's honestly likely. Just like how a Rubik's cube has 56 separate color pieces, there are literally trillions of possible occurrences.

also, if you could shuffle the whole deck in just a second, you would have to be doing this for 2557653956460676007472749773478257535737690404001784217 MILLIONS OF YEARS to uncover every possible combination. (I've faked the last 13 digits or so, because, well, it didn't matter and they wouldn't fit into calculator anyway.)

After 30 min I can do a perfect Faro fairly reliably. Thank you very much this was really well explained.

@nonadvanced

hahahahahaha sure

@buffetbronco6242

For the past two days I thought that turning them slightly was applying pressure while turning slightly. After I figured out that you turn them slightly and then apply pressure. Now I can faro shuffle.

@piggy8761

This is one of the most coolest things in the world and I’m happy I can do it
So satisfying
