Love M
Fats Domino Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

Yes, this mean I'm in love again
Had no lovin' since you-know-when
You know I love you, yes I do
And I'm savin' all my lovin' just for you
Need your lovin' and I need it bad
Just like a dog when he's goin' mad
Hoo-ee, baby, hoo-ee
Baby, won't you give your love to me?
Eeny-meeny and miney-mo
Told me you didn't want me 'round no more
Hoo-ee, baby, hoo-ee
Baby, don't you let your dog bite me

Yes, this mean I'm in love again
Had no lovin' since you-know-when
You know I love you, yes I do
And I'm savin' all my lovin' just for you
Eeny-meeny and miney-mo
Told me you didn't want me 'round no more

Hoo-ee, baby, hoo-ee
Baby, don't you let your dog bite me

Overall Meaning

Fats Domino's I'm in Love Again is a love song about a man who has found love again after a long time. The lyrics reveal that the man has not had a lover in a long time until he met the woman he is singing to. He is telling her that she is the only one he loves and that he will save all his love for her. The man is proclaiming his desire for her love because he is feeling like a dog going mad from wanting her affection. He then pleads with her not to reject him and use his love, rather than push him away.

The repetition of the phrase "yes, this mean I'm in love again" shows how overwhelmed the man is by his newfound love, and the need to express it to the woman he loves. The lyrics "eeny-meeny and miney-mo" suggest that the man is playing a game, trying to convince the woman to choose him. The term "dog" used several times in the song, signifies his strong desire for her love.

In conclusion, the song is a timeless love classic, portraying the passion and excitement that comes with a new relationship. It tells the story of a man who has found love again and is willing to do anything to keep it.

A short work of pure genius. Blew me away when I was 12 and at 76 it's still doing it for me. Thanks Mr Domino.

One of my favorite Fats Domino songs. Actually, they are all my favorites! I started buying his records when I was in high school in the 1950's. They were all 78 rpm's, and I still have every one of them. His music makes a person feel happy. God bless him.
