Faylan attended the Okinawa's Actors School International to learn to dance, though later pursued a vocal course to learn lyric writing and song composing. She began her musical career in 2005, and in 2008 she contributed songs for the soundtrack for the anime GA-REI -zero-. She was also credited for the contribution of insert songs for CANAAN.

The lyrics to Faylan's song PIANOTE express a deep longing for the past and a desire to move forward in life. The opening lines, "I extend my cold, numb hand and weave this feeling to you / It changes into an innocent melody," imply that the singer has been suppressing her emotions and is finally reaching out to let them be known.
