After a brief tour in Australia with Gatherer the band returned to the U.S. to play what would be their last show on December 4, 2009 at the Crabtree Brewing Company in Greeley, CO. After close to 18 months of silence from the band, guitarist Adam Rupert posted a message on the band's Facebook stating an indefinite hiatus.
Several days later Adam made another statement making it clear that the band has not broken up.

Fear Before Lyrics

Everything will not be made right
It's childish I know,
Pretend the world is listening
Ignore the sound for now
I just heard God give in
When we're swallowed by the end
The cockroaches and Darwin
Had a deal
The lyrics of Fear Before The March of Flames's song "Absolute Future" convey a sense of hopelessness and resignation. The repetition of the phrase "Everything will not be made right" emphasizes the futility of trying to fix everything that is wrong in the world. The singer acknowledges that this may seem like a childish outlook, but they urge the listener to join them in pretending that the world is listening and to ignore the noise around them. The line "I just heard God give in" suggests that the singer has lost faith in a higher power that could potentially intervene and make things right.
The second half of the song paints a bleak picture of the future. The singer implies that humanity is doomed to be destroyed, and that even the strongest survivors will be reduced to living like cockroaches. The reference to Darwin and his theory of natural selection underscores the idea that only the strongest and most adaptable species will survive. The line "Had a deal" suggests that even nature has accepted the inevitability of humanity's demise.
