They ended their reign as Fear of Flying in September 2007, however have formed a new band white lies with two additional members.

Mark Occhiogrosso- Keyboards, Vocals
Carm Grasso- Guitars, Vocals
Tom Occhiogrosso- Drums
“Saratoga's Fear of Flying performs prog rock in the tradition of Yes, King Crimson and Peter Gabriel.
It is a genre of music that only the very technically proficient can attempt.
The recently reunited Fear of Flying have not only attempted but succeeded magnificently in capturing the expressive vocals, odd time signatures and sweeping symphonic arrangement that are the hallmarks of progressive music at its ultimate.”

3. Fear of Flying was a punk rock/post-hardcore band from upstate South Carolina, United States, formed in July 2001.
Fear of Flying officially became a band in July of 2001 with long time friends / past band mates Jason Burton (guitar) Scott Gupton (drums). With nothing better to do after work, Jason & Scott began writing songs in Scott's garage. Occasionally, people in the neighborhood would show up and listen to them play. Back then they didn't even have a PA, so none of their songs had any words. Eventually, they decided that it was time they started looking for a bass player. Jason contacted one of his old friends, Todd Ellis to see if he was interested. It just so happened that he and Brian Cody were looking for a drummer and the rest is history. Well not quite. In March of 2002, due to conflict of interests it was decided that Scott needed to leave the band. With 3 weeks before their scheduled studio time, Fear of Flying was without a drummer. It wasn't easy finding someone of fit the band, luckily through mutual friends, Fear of Flying decided to give Jonathan Boswell a chance to try out. At first it was very difficult, because Jonny's musical background was very different from the rest of the band. He was a jazz drummer, and not use to the hard in your face type of style of Fear of `Flying. Once he became familiar with their style, he took it to all new levels. Fear of Flying had gained depth, which was exactly what they needed.
Jason Burton - Guitar & Lead Vocals
Brian Cody (Aka Code Man) - Guitar & Vocals

And pull the sheets above your neck
Your parents kiss still warms you
You can't escape from the illusions in you head
Could what youre thinking be true?
I think I heard it, someone creeping up the stairs
And if it is will they find me?
It's just an owl in the old tree
Sometimes this swinging watch is darker than the trance
This fear that cribs you is asking you to dance
You see it, you hear it, you see it
You see it, you hear it
I... the lights out
You start to dream
My .. clinged so tightly to me
I..
My pulse is racing
Move to the room where you are sleeping
Oh brother, oh brother
I didn't mean to hold you
But my heart is only human
I hide in your closet
And watch you twitching
You know that your sister loves you
Sometimes this swinging watch is darker than the trance
This fear that cribs you is asking you to dance
You see it, you hear it, you see it
You see it, you hear it
There's someone screaming in the dark
Amongst the shadows
I see the image of her face
And so my fear grows
There's someone screaming in the dark
Amongst the shadows
I see the image of her face
And so my fear grows
The lyrics to Fear of Flying's song "Shadows" talks about the fear and the anxiety that comes with being alone in the dark, and the thoughts and illusions that crop up in one's mind during such times. The song's narrator is shown to be struggling with his or her own fears, as they lock their door shut and pull the sheets above their neck. Despite wanting to escape from the illusions in their head, they question whether what they are thinking is true. The fear of the unknown seems to be stronger than the fear of known fears, as the singer hears something creeping up the stairs but is not able to see or discern what it is.
The lyrics also talk about the connection between siblings and the comfort that is found in knowing that someone else is in the same house. The singer hides in their brother's room, watching him sleep and feeling guilty for holding him tightly, but assures him that they love him. The uncertainties of the night are still present, however, with someone screaming in the dark and the singer's fear growing as they see the image of a face in the shadows.
Overall, the song presents a very relatable take on nighttime fears and the way they affect us. The lyrics present a vivid description of what it feels like to be alone and scared in the dark and the different ways we try to cope with our anxieties.
