La Orilla
Federico Aubele Lyrics

Con quien compartir
Marcando el paso
Te acercas a mí
Promesas en tus labios
Sonrisas sin fin
Después dijiste
Al la orilla de aquel río
Dijiste algo en inglés
Yo te dije que parecías
Más sensual en francés
Comimos una manzana
Que robé del backstage
Arreglándote un poco la ropa
Dijiste me tengo que ir
No me diste tu nombre pero
Me escribiste tú e mail
In Federico Aubele's song La Orilla, the lyrics depict two strangers meeting and connecting briefly in a chance encounter. The song starts by describing the singer searching for someone to connect with, marking the pace as they approach each other. As they begin to interact, promises are made, and there seems to be a mutual interest between them. However, the other person mentions that they are not from here as the promises on their lips turn into endless smiles.
The chorus of the song is of particular significance as it describes the moment the two of them meet at the edge of a river. Here, they exchange words, with the other person speaking in English while the singer inquires whether they appear more sensual in French. They sit down and share an apple, which the singer had stolen from the backstage. The lyrics emphasize the idea of a fleeting interaction, with the other person mentioning that they have to leave soon. However, they end up exchanging email addresses even though the singer did not receive the other person's name. The beauty of the song lies in the imagery and emotions that the lyrics evoke, highlighting the fleeting nature of chance encounters, the inescapable allure of the unknown, and the yearning for meaningful connections.
