Forget About Tomorrow
Feeder Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

Calling, distorting
Reach the ends for you
Burn a hole right through

Talking, we keep talking
Filling empty space
In this lonely frame
As the image fades in to one

Today it all feels fine
A sense of freedom fills your mind
Can't think about tomorrow
Just breathe the air inside
And bring on back that lonely smile
Can't think about tomorrow

Twisting, constricted
On the edge for you
You know I'd jump right through

Falling, we keep stalling
I can see the ground
Someplace new to land
As the image fades into one

Today it all feels fine
A sense of freedom fills your mind
Can't think about tomorrow
Just breathe the air inside
And bring on back that lonely smile
Can't think about tomorrow
Can't think about tomorrow

Because you, feel yourself
Fall apart again
You hold your face inside your aching hands
The angels tears come flooding down again
Bring us back again

Yearning, returning
To this empty street
As the city sleeps

Tearing, despairing
As the day comes in
As the morning sings
As the image fades into one

Today it all feels fine
A sense of freedom fills your mind
Can't think about tomorrow
Just breathe the air inside
And bring on back that lonely smile
Can't think about tomorrow

Today it all feels fine
A sense of freedom fills your mind

Can't think about tomorrow

Overall Meaning

The lyrics of the song Forget About Tomorrow by Feeder seem to center on the idea of living in the present and forgetting about tomorrow, a sentiment that is conveyed through the repeated line "Can't think about tomorrow" throughout the song. The first verse begins with the image of a person reaching the ends for someone they care about, burning a hole right through with their passion. The singer and the person they are reaching for keep talking and filling the lonely spaces between them, as the image fades into one. The sense of connection and freedom is all-consuming in the present moment, and they can't bring themselves to think about the uncertainties of tomorrow.

The second verse further emphasizes this idea of being caught in the present moment. The singer feels as though they are twisted and constricted, but still willing to jump through hoops for their loved one. They are falling and stalling, but they can see somewhere new to land. Again, the present moment is where they find the most comfort as they can't think about tomorrow. But in the bridge, there is a moment of realization that something is not quite right. The singer begins to feel as though they're falling apart again, holding their face in their hands, and the angel's tears come flooding down, bringing them back to reality.

Overall, the song seems to convey a sense of fleeting freedom and connection in the present moment, but there is an inherent danger in forgetting about the future. The song warns us against getting too caught up in the moment, as we can easily forget about tomorrow and lose ourselves in the process. In the end, the memories we create today will always remain with us, even if tomorrow brings uncertainty.

I have never understood why this band isn't more popular. I have been listening to them since I was a kid and still hold the title for my favourite song, they are also fantastic live ❤️

🔥2019🔥 One of their finest classics. It blends into the existential ‘morning life’ so well. An emotional tour de force that is sobering and cathartic, while the U.K. grows ever disunited due to corrupt politics.

The first song I heard of Feeder 🥰

Such a vulnerable feeling from this tune. One of my favs by Feeder. The longing for lost band mate felt deeply here. The new drummer has his drums off beat and under volumed as if showing deference to the band as if to say he’s not a replacement but a a surrogate to give the remaining members a seed to regrow with new perspective.

-it's a song that i kind of stumbled upon, probably nearly 10 years back, it's like a lot of songs that get you, that are written from someone else's perspective of what your perspective could be, it's a track that i come back to from time to time...
