quédate siempre, me dijiste,
hoy tu mirada es como un manto,
un manto tibio de amistad...
Tu copa es esta y la llenaste,
bebamos juntos, viejo amigo
dijiste mientras levantaste
La historia vuelve a repetirse,
mi muñequita dulce y rubia,
el mismo amor... la misma lluvia...
el mismo, el mismo loco afán...
¿Te acuerdas? hace Justo un año
nos separamos sin un llanto,
ninguna escena, ningún daño
simplemente fue un adiós
inteligente de los dos.
Después de un tiempo nuevamente,
los dos brindamos por la vuelta,
tu boca roja y oferente,
bebió en el fino baccarat
Después quizás, mordiendo un llanto,
quédate siempre me dijiste,
afuera es noche y llueve tanto,
y comenzaste a llorar...
¿Te acuerdas? hace Justo un año
nos separamos sin un llanto,
ninguna escena, ningún daño
simplemente fue un adiós
inteligente de los dos.
The lyrics of Felipe Pirela’s song ‘Por la Vuelta’ convey the emotions of two friends who have reconnected a year after their amicable breakup. It is nighttime and pouring rain outside, making staying inside all the more appealing. The singer’s friend claims that he sees a ‘warm cloak of friendship’ in the singer's eyes. They drink champagne together and reminisce about their past. The singer remarks how history seems to repeat itself, and how the same love and rain from a year ago have returned. They parted with a simple goodbye, but now they drink to their reunion. However, towards the end of the song, the friend starts crying, perhaps realizing that this reunion after so long may not be everything he hoped it would be.
The poetic lyrics take a reflective tone, and the song’s theme is nostalgia and reflection on past relationships. The singer seems to be aware of the cyclical nature of life and how emotions can resurface unexpectedly. Even though both parties parted ways amicably a year ago, the fact that they still have strong feelings for each other is evident. The song paints a picture of two mature people, reconnecting, and appreciating the solace their friendship brings while acknowledging the passage of time.
