1. An indie/rock/alternative group from Anderson, IN.
2. An alternative rock band from southern California.
3. 90emo/ hardcore band from Switzerland. Formed in 1994.
1. Hailing from Anderson, IN is the 4 man indie/rock/alternative band Ferguson. An alternative to most radio-driven pop that is still accessible to the normal listener, Ferguson is a mixture of melancholy atmosphere with positive energy in a classic four-piece format.
Much like every other band in high school, Ferguson started out as a garage band (well, in their case, it was a basement). It started out as four friends hanging out. While most guys would be playing video games, they wrote songs and played music together. Ferguson has now been together for approximately three years, and has started their career by playing shows across central Indiana and the midwest.
A full-length record entitled “Easier” was released by Ferguson in September of 2007, followed by a 6 song EP entitled "A House Divided" that was released in November of 2008, both of which are available on iTunes.
2. Ferguson/Band was a Southern California based alternative rock band. With chains, whips, knives, whistles, and an obscenely over sized trampoline, the group effortlessly sets themselves sets themselves apart from the crowd. The experience one gets when listening to the group parallels that of a drug induced hallucination gone horribly wrong. At no point in their musical experimentations has anyone been able to classify them as "main-stream" or "unoriginal." In conclusion, it is the writer's great pleasure to announce that Ferguson is better than sex."
Ferguson was formed at the end of the Summer of 2005 and quickly became the main musical focus of each individual in the group. Ferguson released a few independent tracks and played some dazzling shows. The band is no longer active.
3. Ferguson/Rapper
Ferguson, is a 20 year old Hip Hop artist born and raised in Toronto Canada. Ferguson, the youngest of three, always knew he was different from his siblings. While they focused on sports and education, Ferguson chose an alternate path, to pursue music. His love for Hip Hop began at the tender age of nine when he started listening to influential artists like 50 Cent, Eminem, Tupac and Biggie. Their music inspired Ferguson to begin recording his own music. Despite childhood illnesses and non believers, he continued to make music and follow his dream.
Ferguson's career came to a sudden halt when he was forced to stop recording due to a life threatening experience. In 2008 after the encouraging words, "Don't give up, you are talented" by a very close friend and supporter, Ferguson jumped back into the game.
He is currently working on the highly anticipated mixtape, "Second Best" Hosted by DJ Gutta, which will be available online for free download February 2012
The Current
Ferguson Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
Where do you have to go?
You're finding that its worth
Every mile you have to row
I'd like to regulate
Every wave that you create.
If you throw me overboard
I will travel in your wake
To see whatever you are looking for.
Storms will arise and blow me away.
But, you're lovely eyes are like beacons anyway.
So, I'll sit here in the sand
Waiting for your little hands
To find my sallow face,
When you finally understand
And see whatever you are looking for.
You'll see whatever you are looking for.
The lyrics to The Current by Ferguson evoke a sense of longing and distance between two people. The first stanza describes the singer as sailing far away, asking where they have to go. This indicates that the singer's journey is independent and their destination is unknown to the singer. However, the singer acknowledges that the journey is worth it, despite the hardships the singer may face, because they are searching for something they feel is important.
In the second stanza, the singer expresses a desire to be with the singer, to regulate every wave they create. But even if the singer sails away and goes on without them, the singer is willing to follow their wake to see whatever it is they are searching for. The third stanza describes potential obstacles that may arise, such as storms that may blow the singer away. However, the beauty of the singer's eyes are like beacons to the singer, and they continue to wait for the singer to return.
The final stanza expresses a sense of hope that the singer will eventually find what they are looking for, and that they will see whatever it is they are searching for. The longing and distance present in the earlier stanzas is overcome, and the singer is confident that their connection will persist, even if the singer's journey takes them far away.
Overall, The Current by Ferguson is a beautiful expression of love in the face of distance and the unknown. It speaks to the eternal hope we all possess, that we will find what we are seeking and that those who love us will always be there to support us.
