Muchas caras, muchos caminos, tanta cantidad
The lyrics of Fernando Cabrera's song Los viajantes describe the feeling of restlessness and the ongoing search for something that seems unattainable. The singer starts off by describing the passing of time and how they are anxiously waiting for something to happen. They are counting the cities left to visit and have an incomplete map that they wish to fill. This portrays the idea that the singer is on a journey, both a physical one and a metaphorical one, and they are looking for something that they are not quite sure of.
The chorus describes the travelers as continuously searching for something that they will never reach, mentioning the endless horizon that will never come. This line suggests that the travelers' journey is not just geographical; it's also emotional and psychological. They will keep marching, blindly, and in the dark, trying to find what they're looking for. The second verse emphasizes the vastness of their journey and how they are filling their album with memories of the different places they have visited. They are also filling their map with "figuritas de la soledad," essentially marking their journey with small symbols of their loneliness. This suggests that despite their extensive travels, they are still searching for a sense of belonging and companionship.
Overall, the lyrics of Los viajantes are reflective of the constant search for something that is often out of reach. While the travelers have seen many places, they are still searching. The chorus's repetition of "algo buscarán" reinforces the idea that their journey is ongoing, and they may never find what they're looking for. The song's tone is wistful and reflective, capturing the complex emotions of traveling and searching for something that may be impossible to find.
