En la Floresta
Fernando Delgadillo Lyrics

Me llen un poco la boca
Con el aire de este bosque espeso
Que me hablara de penumbra y soledades
Y me puse a ver el sol y el aire
Y me puse a ver clarear
No iba a hallar explicaciones
Ya he pensado recordarme y nada ms
A un sujeto que se quita

La muerte y se la echa a un lado
Ante la ovacin de vida forestal

Overall Meaning

The song En la Floresta by Fernando Delgadillo talks about a person who has gone into a dense forest and is taken in by the charm of it all. The opening lines describe the feeling of the forest's air, which speaks of darkness and loneliness, and the initial curiosity that follows. The person then begins to observe the sun and air, and everything around them, as though it were all new, something that was once ordinary but now is renewed. It's as though the forest has awakened something within them, and they are unable to stop looking around in wonder. The person slowly removes the gun that was weighing heavy on their palate, almost as if they were about to end their life.

Suddenly, life strikes them, and they are shaken by thoughts of their fate, and the pain and fear they may have to endure. They were not willing to passively accept their end, but rather wanted to get rid of their memories or life. Just when they were about to put an end to it all, the force of life, destiny, or fate, intervened, and something stopped them from going ahead. The experience leaves the person grateful for their chance at life, and they resolve to leave behind anything that has held them back. The person becomes the subject of admiration from the forest, and they leave as one who avoided death, with a newfound appreciation for life.
