Para la maravilla
Tabaco y ron (tabaco, tabaco, tabaco)
Por quien mande en el mundo siempre habrá
Por quien mande en el mundo siempre habrá
Buena gente, mala gente, el que niega
Tabaco y ron (tabaco, tabaco, tabaco
Tabaco y ron (tabaco, tabaco, tabaco)
Quita esa mala cara compadre?
Que lo va a matar esa amargura
Quita esa mala cara compadre?
Que lo va a matar esa amargura
Esa amargura esa amargura!
(Tabaco, tabaco, tabaco)
Tabaco y ron
The lyrics of Fernando Villalona's song Tabaco y Ron refer to the human need for coping mechanisms during difficult times. Tabaco y Ron literally means tobacco and rum, which are two substances often associated with relaxation and pleasure. The artist emphasizes that regardless of who holds power in the world or what kind of people exist in society (good, bad, liars, wise, foolish, indifferent), people will always rely on these substances to help them deal with their problems. The lyrics encourage listeners to let go of their bitterness and sadness, embrace the good moments, and come together to talk about their struggles over a drink. Villalona's use of repetition in the chorus ("tabaco, tabaco, tabaco") adds to the song's hypnotic, almost trance-like quality, highlighting how people can become addicted to these substances.
Overall, Tabaco y Ron is a song that speaks to the human condition, acknowledging that life can be challenging and that people often turn to vices like tobacco and rum to find solace. The lyrics also suggest that people can find comfort in community and in sharing their experiences with others. While the song may appear to be simply about drinking and enjoying oneself, it also reveals the complexity and depth of human emotion and the ways in which people cope with their problems.
