L'âge d'or
Ferré Leo Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
Doré comme les filles
Sous les soleils d'or
Nous aurons du vin
De celui qui pétille
Même quand il dort
Nous aurons du sang
Dedans nos veines blanches
Lundi sera dimanche
Mais notre âge alors
Sera l'âge d'or
Nous aurons des lits
Creusés comme des filles
Dans le sable fin
Nous aurons des fruits
Les mêmes qu'on grappille
Dand le champ voisin
Nous aurons bien sûr
Dedans nos maisons blêmes
Tous les becs d'azur
Qui là-haut se promènent
Mais notre âge alors
Sera l'âge d'or
Nous aurons la mer
A deux pas de l'étoile
Les jours de grand vent
Nous aurons l'hiver
Avec une cigale
Dans ses cheuveux blancs
Nous aurons l'amour
Dedans tous nos problèmes
Et tous les discours
Finiront par je t'aime
Vienne vienne alors
Vienne l'âge d'or
In Ferré Leo's song "L'Age D'Or", the lyrics describe a utopian future where everything is perfect and golden. The singer describes a world where they will have bread as golden as girls, sparkling wine that even seems to bubble when it’s resting, and blood flowing through their white veins. They also describe how Monday will be like Sunday where they will have beds dug in the fine sand like girls and they will have the fruits that they pick from the neighboring field. Moreover, the singer mentions the birds with azure beaks that will all be in their houses and the starry sky to watch. Most importantly, the singer claims that their age, despite having all these possessions, will be the golden age because they will have love in all their troubles and every conversation will end with "I love you".
The lyrics of this song are a form of escape from the reality of life, to a more optimum world where everything is perfect. This song can be seen as a way to look at the world today and find hope in a better tomorrow. Ferré Leo portrayed a world that can offer all forms of happiness, from love to good food, shelter, and nature.

Nous aurons du pain
We will have bread
Doré comme les filles
Golden like the girls
Sous les soleils d'or
Under golden suns
Nous aurons du vin
We will have wine
De celui qui pétille
Of the kind that bubbles
Même quand il dort
Even when it's asleep
Nous aurons du sang
We will have blood
Dedans nos veines blanches
Inside our white veins
Et le plus souvent
And most often
Lundi sera dimanche
Monday will be Sunday
Mais notre âge alors
But our age then
Sera l'âge d'or
Will be the golden age
Nous aurons des lits
We will have beds

In the fine sand
Nous aurons des fruits
We will have fruits
Les mêmes qu'on grappille

Dand le champ voisin
In the neighboring field
Nous aurons bien sûr
We will of course have
Dedans nos maisons blêmes
Inside our pale houses
Tous les becs d'azur
All the blue beaks
Qui là-haut se promènent
That stroll up high
Mais notre âge alors
But our age then
Sera l'âge d'or
Will be the golden age
Nous aurons la mer
We will have the sea
A deux pas de l'étoile
Two steps from the star
Les jours de grand vent
On days of strong wind
Nous aurons l'hiver
We will have winter
Avec une cigale
With a cicada
Dans ses cheuveux blancs
In its white hair
Nous aurons l'amour
We will have love
Dedans tous nos problèmes
Inside all our problems
Et tous les discours
And all the speeches
Finiront par je t'aime
Will end with I love you
Vienne vienne alors
Come, come then
Vienne l'âge d'or
Come, the golden age
