A switch to popular standards by the likes of George Gershwin, Jerome Kern, Cole Porter, and Richard Rodgers made them mainstays in the pops-orchestra field. The duo experimented with prepared pianos, influenced - oddly enough - by the ideas of avant-garde composer John Cage. By adding paper, sticks, rubber, wood blocks, metal bars, chains, glass, mallets, and other found objects to piano string beds, they were able to produce a variety of bizarre sounds that sometimes resembled percussion instruments, and at other times produced a spacy, almost electronic sound.
All the Way
Ferrante and Teicher Lyrics

It's no good unless he loves you, all the way
Happy to be near you
When you need someone to cheer you, all the way
Taller than the tallest tree is
That's how it's got to feel
Deeper than the deep blue see is
When somebody needs you
It's no good unless he needs you, all the way
Through the good or lean years
And for all the in between years, come what may
Who know where the road will lead us
Only a fool would say
But if you'll let me love you
It's for sure I'm gonna love you, all the way
All the way
The lyrics to Ferrante and Teicher’s “All The Way” are a declaration of unconditional love. The singer emphasizes how important it is to have someone who loves you all the way, from the highest high to the lowest low. The song describes the depth of love that should be felt in a true relationship. The lyrics make it clear that superficial love isn’t enough, and that true love must be both deep and wide-ranging.
In the first verse, the singer conveys the idea that having someone who loves you when you need to be cheered up is essential. This true love should be deep enough to be felt like the tallest tree and the deep blue sea. The chorus emphasizes the importance of someone who needs you all the way, through the good times and the bad ones. The final verse declares the singer’s desire to love someone all the way, despite the unknown direction of the future.
In summary, the lyrics of “All The Way” describe a kind of love that is real and true, and it argues that true love is essential because it provides emotional support during life’s ups and downs.
