Beatles - Teddy Boy (Get Back/Let It Be demo)
===============================================
(Paul McCartney)
Lead Vocal: Paul McCartney
About a boy named Ted
If his mother said (Said)
"Ted, be good (Be good, Ted)," he would (Alright)
She told him tales
About a soldier dad
But it made her sad
Then she cried, oh my
Ted used to tell her
He′d be twice as good
And he knew he could
'Cause in his head he said
"Mummy don′t worry
Your mblmblmbl's here
Taking good care of you
Mama don't worry
Your Teddy boy′s here
Teddy′s gonna see you through"
And she said
"Teddy don't worry
Your mummy′s here
Taking good care of you"
She said, "Teddy don't worry
Your mummy′s here
Teddy's gonna see you through"
He said, "Ta da da..."
Then came the day
She found herself a man
Teddy turned and ran
Oh far away, oh yeah
He couldn′t stand
Just to be around
So he left the town far away, yeah yeah
Ted used to tell her
He'd be twice as good
And he know he could
'Cause in his head he said
"Mummy don′t worry
Now Teddy boy′s here
Taking good care of you
Mummy don't worry
Your Teddy boy′s here
Teddy's gonna see you through"
And she said
"Teddy don′t worry
Now mummy's here
Taking good care of you
Teddy don′t worry
Your mummy's here
Mummy's gonna see you through"
And he said
"Mummy mummy don′t worry
Your Teddy boy′s here
Taking good care of you
Mummy don't worry
Now Teddy boy′s here
Teddy's gonna see you through"

Hold them tight then
Now Ted used to tell her
He'd be twice as good
And he knew he could
′Cause in his head, he said (fade out)
Ferry Aid's Let It Be-The Gospel Jam Mix begins with the story of a boy named Ted. Ted's mother always reminded him to be good and would tell him about his soldier father, but it would always make her sad. Ted would tell his mother that he would be twice as good and that he would take care of her. However, things changed when his mother found a man and Ted could not stand to be around him. He then left the town and his mother. Despite this, he assures his mother that he will always take good care of her as long as he is Teddy Boy.
The lyrics of the song tell the story of the inseparable bond between a mother and her son. Ted's mother appears to have been a single mother raising her son with tales about his soldier father, and despite the challenges that she faces with the arrival of a new man in her life, Ted promises to be there for her always. It is a heartwarming and emotional story of the love between a mother and her child.

Thank you soooooooooooo much for this one. I never was able to find a copy of the 12" single, and my 7" 45 was damaged during a move to a new apartment many years ago.
You really know your tech - the song sounds better here than it ever did on my 7" single over 30 years ago. Rock on!

If I remember correctly, you had to send off for the 12" from The Sun newspaper.. That what I did!!!..
