Nothing
Ferry Corsten Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
So how can I survive this sinking feeling
Don't you know it's gone too wrong
Early warning
How could it have come to this
We're dyin' tryin'
It's a long way down
Can stop me from hitting the ground
'Cause now I've got nothing to hold the falling
So how can I survive this sinking feeling
Nothing to hold the falling
So how can I survive this sinking feeling
Nothing to hold the falling
So how can I survive this sinking feeling
Nothing to hold the falling
So how can I survive this sinking feeling
Nothing to hold the falling
So how can I survive this sinking feeling
Nothing to hold the falling
So how can I survive this sinking feeling
Nothing to hold the falling
So how can I survive this sinking feeling
In the song "Nothing" by Ferry Corsten, the lyrics focus on the feeling of helplessness and despair. The repetition of "nothing to hold the falling" emphasizes the lack of support or safety net for the singer, and the sinking feeling indicates that they are struggling and possibly drowning in their emotions. The opening line "don't you know it's gone too wrong" provides a sense of regret or missed opportunities, as if the situation has spiraled out of control and they are unable to salvage it.
The chorus of the song is a plea for help or guidance, though it seems like no one can provide the assistance needed. The line "it's a long way down, but no one in this crowd can stop me from hitting the ground" adds to the feeling of isolation and loneliness, as if the singer is surrounded by people but still feels alone in their struggle. The repetition of "how can I survive" highlights the desperation and hopelessness of the situation.
Overall, this song is a powerful representation of the struggles of mental health and the need for support and understanding. It highlights the importance of reaching out when in need, and the damaging effects of feeling alone in one's struggles.
