In "Let You Go", the singer is talking about a past relationship where promises were made but never kept. The first two lines of the song, "You said you'd leave the light on / You said a lot of things that never were", suggest that the partner promised to always be there for the singer but they ended up breaking that promise. Despite the disappointment, the singer continued to hang on to the partner's every word, only to be led on.
