From living in the past, I know how to
Meet me at the corner we both know
So I'll be sure of where to go
Just stop holding on for what you owe
And can I make you see that I
Have everything you're looking for
I wanna shake her up like you
When I've nothing left to lose
I never believed her
But I'm the only one who can see her
But I won't stay awake to make you feel at home
So take off all your clothes and fuck off
And I'll show you
And does she make you feel alive?
If by now I know you more
And can I make you see that I have everything you're looking for?
Oh, oh where ya wanna sing it?
I wanna shake her up like you
When I've nothing left to lose
Oh, how I wanna sing it
Won't tell our parents where we've been
But I'm still feeling shaken off
This love is not enough for us
Your lips are moving ahead,
You're all over me, you shouldn't be
And I was never a threat to her
Oh, oh where ya wanna sing it?
I wanna shake her up like you
When I've nothing left to lose
Oh, how I wanna sing it
Won't tell our parents where we've been
But I'm still feeling shaken off
This love is not enough for us
"Shake Her" by Fickle Friends is a song that deals with unrequited love and the desire to be with someone who is with someone else. The lyrics suggest that the singer has strong feelings for someone who is in a relationship and they are struggling to come to terms with it. The first verse encourages the other person to live in the past and not let the singer hold them back. The chorus expresses the singer's desire to be with the other person and shake them up like their current partner does. The second verse suggests that the singer knows the other person well and questions if their current partner makes them feel alive, implying that they do not. The song ends with the singer admitting that their love is not enough and that they are still feeling shaken off.
Overall, the song is a sad and poignant expression of the pain of unrequited love. The lyrics are emotive and the melody is wistful, creating a poignant and reflective mood.
