The band has kept up the mix of traditional Irish or Scottish songs and self-written tracks, though the self-written tracks have progressively become less and less folky. The band's influences are wide and varied, but obviously heavily influenced by Celtic rock bands like the Pogues, the Waterboys and Great Big Sea. Recent albums also see a clear influence from Gothic rock music. Having enjoyed growing success in and around Germany, the band reached 1000 played concerts in 2004 (the only band member to play them all is bass player Rainer Schulz), which was celebrated with a concert at Castle Hoheneck. This concert was filmed and released on two DVDs: Celebrate! and Jubilate! The concert saw participation from former band members and other guest musicians. Main lyric and music writer Peter Pathos has left the band in summer 2006 and was replaced by Patrick 'Pat' Prziwara. A live DVD Folk's not dead was released to celebrate the band's 20th anniversary in 2010

Sittin the desert waiting for rain
The sun has fried out my brain
The air is thick there is only one face
That I will never forget
The very first day we met you blew my mind
I thought you were so fine
The air doesnt move there is nothing to lose
You took my money
And threw it away
You took it all and went on your way
Theres nothing left
Have you had a nice day
You rode my pony then you ran away
Come back and stay
Babe youre so far away
The beat is gone forever
Come back and stay
My love is on its way
Come back its now or never
We tried to chase the wind
But now that youre gone
I look for water in the desert
Therere no clouds in the sky
My mouth is so dry
I want you here right by my side
Ive waited long enough, searching for clues
I wanna know just how I got here
Have you left me for good
Is it right that I should
Just fade into the sunset
I hope that you will be here tonight
Tonight will everything be all right
I want you right by my side again
I wonder if youll come back again
Come back and stay...
The song "Come Back" by Fiddler's Green is a poignant reflection on lost love and the longing for someone who has left. The opening lines describe a barren landscape, where the singer is waiting for rain, with the sun having fried out their brain. They are consumed by thoughts of the one who got away - "The air is thick there is only one face/That I will never forget/The very first day we met you blew my mind/I thought you were so fine". The chorus is a plea for their love to return - "Come back and stay/Babe you're so far away/The beat is gone forever/Come back and stay/My love is on its way/Come back it's now or never".
The second verse is a lament over lost time and regret. The singer recounts how their lover had taken all of their money and rode their pony before running away, leaving them with nothing. They have searched and searched, but to no avail. They feel the weight of their own naivety, wondering if they were foolish to believe that their love would be enough to keep them together. The bridge of the song is a moment of desperation, where the singer wonders if their love will ever come back again and if everything will be alright.
