The band has kept up the mix of traditional Irish or Scottish songs and self-written tracks, though the self-written tracks have progressively become less and less folky. The band's influences are wide and varied, but obviously heavily influenced by Celtic rock bands like the Pogues, the Waterboys and Great Big Sea. Recent albums also see a clear influence from Gothic rock music. Having enjoyed growing success in and around Germany, the band reached 1000 played concerts in 2004 (the only band member to play them all is bass player Rainer Schulz), which was celebrated with a concert at Castle Hoheneck. This concert was filmed and released on two DVDs: Celebrate! and Jubilate! The concert saw participation from former band members and other guest musicians. Main lyric and music writer Peter Pathos has left the band in summer 2006 and was replaced by Patrick 'Pat' Prziwara. A live DVD Folk's not dead was released to celebrate the band's 20th anniversary in 2010

One Fine Day
Fiddler's Green Lyrics

This is where I want to stay
But your love is too much
And you're driving me away
This picture postcard
This perfect lie in life
Flowers on the table
Beside the switchblade knife
I've had enough, had enough, had enough, my clock is ticking
I've had enough, had enough, had enough, life's for living
And one fine day I'll be back again
In my little house by the sea
And one fine day I'll be back again
Not for you but just for me
And one fine day I'll be back again
Lost my hope and found my fears
And one fine day I'll be back again
And you'll never see my tears
If you walk on the cool wet grass
You can see the grime and dirt
But you can't feel the pain
If it doesn't hurt
Wanna smell the roses
Wanna walk the trail
Let me fall from grace, my love
And tug the devil's tail
I stood on the shoulders of giants
As far as the eye can see
There's only one place, only one place
My little house by the sea
The lyrics of Fiddler's Green's song "One Fine Day" speak to the conflict between wanting to stay in a familiar, comfortable place and the need to escape a toxic love. The opening lines establish a sense of home, where the singer wants to stay. However, the love they have for someone else is too much, and it's driving them away. The image of a perfect life with flowers on the table is contrasted with a switchblade knife, suggesting that not everything is as ideal as it seems.
The first verse is followed by the chorus, where the singer sings about one fine day they'll return to their little house by the sea, not for the person who drove them away but for themselves. They've had enough, and their clock is ticking, indicating that time is running out for them to make a change in their life. The second verse continues with imagery that evokes the senses, inviting a walk on cool, wet grass and the scent of roses. However, the lyrics also speak of wanting to fall from grace and tug the devil's tail, perhaps reflecting a desire to break free from societal expectations and moral constraints.
Overall, "One Fine Day" is a song about leaving behind what no longer serves us, even if that means letting go of a place or a person that is dear to us. It's a song about finding the courage to pursue one's own desires and follow a different path, even if it leads to uncertainty and fear.

For all of those who are confused, didn't listen to the lyrics or pay attention to the video. He is running away from her because she is overbearing, he feels like the love is a lie. And yes, that is blood coming from her mouth because he does stab her when she catches up to him.

0:41 Die Melodie und wie der Gesang klingt, erinnert mich stark an " i get knocked down, but i get up again..." Super song :D

@Ambar42
@l.sch.8738
@Ambar42
@l.sch.8738
Bottom's Up hat beispielsweise Hip Hop Elemente, Johnny, Leaving of Liverpool und selbst Boat on the River haben Folkelemente. Zugegeben, we won't die tonight und here wo go again sind jetzt nicht sonderlich in den Rahmen zu packen, aber ansonsten okay.
