1) A Los Angeles outfit, they were previously known as ESB - Electric String Band. Their eponymous album from 1969 is heavy rock with some psychedelic influence, was produced by ex-Merry-Go-Rounder Bill Rinehart, ESB may previously have been W.C. Fields Memorial Electric Band.
2) A trio formed from diverse musicians from other groups such as KING CRIMSON and RARE BIRD, which managed one sole album. FIELDS is named after Graham Field, founding member of RARE BIRD and was responsible for many of the better tracks of the first two albums. After his departure RARE BIRD will change sound rather drastically veering towards a faster tempo rock with funky grooves. As for FIELDS, this is a keyboard-led trio with bassist Alan Barry singing but also playing guitars (although very discreet) but also adding some Mellotron lines. Rounding up that trio is Andy Mc McCullough who had played on KC's Lizard album and we will find him holding the drums stool for GREENSLADE later that year.
3) Fields are an Anglo-Icelandic electronic/indie band formed in London comprising Nick Peill (Vocals/Acoustic Guitar/Keyboards), Þórunn Antonía (Vocals/Keyboards/Synths), Henry Spenner (Vocals/Drums), Matty Derham (Bass Guitar) and Jamie Putnam (Electric Guitar).
In early 2006 the band played their first live shows. This sparked a furious bidding war amongst UK record companies. They eventually signed a unique deal with Atlantic Records which allows them to keep releasing records through their own Black Lab Records set-up as well as Atlantic. They are set to record their debut album with legendary producer Michael Beinhorn who has produced the likes of Herbie Hancock, Korn, Mew, Soundgarden and Marilyn Manson.
The band released their debut album, Everything Last Winter, on April 2, 2007.
Fields is set to release thier 2nd album in March 09, the album will be entited Hollow Mountains
4) FIELDS are a savage band from Ireland. They make good tunes and they are sound skins. Their first album, The Sound of Staying In was released on April 17, 2020.
In The Morning
Fields Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
when everything is fresh
and the sun is crawling
across your forehead
I swear
you’re the most beautiful
one I’ve ever known
And on no sleep
I’m strangely aware
That by neXt week
This moment will be history
chorus
Don’t say that this is the end
Some things time cannot mend
Don’t say that this is the end
Don’t go and leave me again
If I only knew
How to turn back the clock
And forget you
The you that now haunts me
And if I relapse
And I come back to you
Then all I ask
All I ask
chorus
The Fields's song In the Morning is a romantic ballad that describes an intimate moment shared between two people, where they are considering spending the night together. The song's lyrics start with a description of the dreary outside world, where it's raining, and there are no cabs available on the street. However, inside the house, it's warm and dry, and the singer suggests that the person they are addressing should spend the night. There is a sense of comfort and safety suggested in the second line, where the singer suggests that there is no need to brave the rain outside.
The chorus of the song repeats the idea that it's difficult to leave the house and the village where they live as it's too beautiful to depart. The singer uses metaphors of tangled wheels and the inability to whisper goodbye, emphasizing the strength of the connection between the two people. The second verse of the song continues with the notion that the person should stay a bit longer, perhaps until the weekend, or even the summer. There is a sense of longing and desire expressed in the words, with the singer saying that they can sleep through spring and that they will become such good friends. The song's bridge suggests that the two people should stay together for a lifetime, even after they are old and become ghosts, they will only seem to die. The song ends with another repetition of the chorus, highlighting the singer's inability to say goodbye and the beauty of the village they live in.
Overall, the song In the Morning by Fields is a beautiful expression of love, comfort, and desire. The singer creates a vivid image of a rainy day outside, while a comfortable and warm indoor environment invites the person they are addressing to stay the night. The song's lyrics use metaphors to express the connection between the two people, while the chorus emphasizes the difficulty of leaving and saying goodbye. The song's imagery and words work together to create a poetic and romantic atmosphere that captures the intimacy of relationships and the beauty of togetherness.
