Fifteen released their first record in 1991 on Lookout records. It was singer/guitarist Jeff Ott's vision to create music that didn't just rock, but had something important to say as well. After four records on Lookout, two on Grass Records, three on Sub City Records, and three more on indefinite self-published labels, Fifteen were viewed as the leaders in the political-punk music scene. They tackle such burning issues as homelessness, drug abuse, needle exchange, environmental destruction and the government's use of counterintelligence measures to violate activist's civil rights. Fifteen first broke up in 1996 after the self-released "extra medium kickball star."
They reformed in 1998 and released Hush and Survivor then disbanded 2000 with Jeff Ott stating that the anti-commercial DIY ethics of punk rock made it too expensive for him to have a band while raising a family.
The band had a total of fifteen members during its existence: Jeff Ott, Jack Curran, Mikey Mischief, Mark Moreno, Jean Repetto, Lucky Dog, Chris Flanagan, John Ogle, Jessie Wickman, Joe Cable, John Quintos, Scott Pierce, Jim Prior, Lisa D. and Vanessa Bain.
Imagination
Fifteen Lyrics

Thinkin' maybe I'd find her there
I got a little scared
Take a walk through your imagination
And maybe you'll find her there
She hasn't got a care
She doesn't let herself get caught up
She'll always be free
I saw that she had a different way of lookin' at me
She could see my fear
She say everything will be all right
And shines with reassurance
As she walks away
If I hold her dear without restrictions
She'll come runnin' to me
When she gets the time
So young with the best intentions
There's no way she can fall
Somethin's there to catch her
Captivated by the way she smiles at me
I hope she sees me smilin' at her
I'll dream about her forever
In Fifteen's song "Imagination", the songwriter takes us on a journey through his imagination, where he hopes to find the girl he loves. He begins by walking through his own imagination, hoping to find her there. However, he quickly becomes scared and unsure of what he might discover. He suggests that the listener also takes a walk through their own imagination as well, perhaps hoping that they might find their own true love there.
As he continues on his journey, he begins to describe the girl he's searching for. She is carefree and unattached, someone who never gets caught up in the problems of others. Although they're not very close, he's enamored by her and notices that she has a different way of looking at things. He's been afraid to get too close to her, but she seems to offer him reassurance when they do interact.
Despite his fear and the obstacles between them, the songwriter dreams of a future with this girl. He hopes that if he holds her dear without any restrictions, she will eventually come to him. He reflects on her youth and good intentions, and believes that she will always be protected by something or someone. He's been captivated by the way she smiles at him, and he hopes that she can see him smiling back at her forever.
Overall, "Imagination" is a wistful and heartfelt song about a young person's journey to find love. The songwriter uses vivid imagery and relatable feelings to take the listener on a journey through their own imagination.
