Come On
Fig Dish Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

Worn down by all the questions
I can't explain
So what caught dead to rights
I'm the one to blame

But you
Don't be such a shit about it
You
Are gonna get sick without it

Stay inside and sleep all day
Come on out at night to play
So come on (Don't come on)
So come on
People having accidents
Starring at the accident
So come on (Don't come on)
So come on
So come on (Don't come on)
So come on

I've grown the need to panic
There's nothing to do
You come by my place so I take it
Out on you

I am not cool
And I won't meet a goal
So
Fork over the antidote

Stay inside and sleep all day
Come on out at night to play
So come on (Don't come on)
So come on
People having accidents
Starring at the accident
So come on (Don't come on)
So come on
So come on (Don't come on)
So come on

Got lit up just like a Christmas Tree
Totally wrecked just like DC3

I like waking up face-down on the
Laundry pile
Sometimes sleep can be such a
Miracle

Stay inside and sleep all day
Come on out at night to play
So come on (Don't come on)
So come on
People having accidents
Starring at the accident
So come on (Don't come on)
So come on

So come on (Don't come on)
So come on

I love Blake Smith, I have both Fig Dish and Caviar albums, and The Prairie Cartel's album, but I've always loved Fig Dish the most. Thanks for posting this!

One of the best (and most fun to see live) bands from the 90's Chicago scene.

Yeah, they're pretty awesome! Blake Smith is the vocalist for most Fig Dish songs, if you listen to Caviar and Prairie Cartel he has a really distinctive voice. Caviar is more pop-rocky kind of stuff, but they disbanded in 2004 after releasing 2 albums, and The Prairie Cartel are more electronic rock, and released an album in 2009. All of them are equally awesome and annoyingly obscure. Good luck finding Caviar's first album, that was near impossible to find but it was worth it!

No problem. Wow, I admit I don't know much about Fig Dish or the individual band members..I feel embarrassed to have to ask who Blake Smith is..I've never heard Caviar or The Prairie Cartel either so that's something I def gotta check out! Thanx for ur post!
