I've got the peice of mind of a killer soul
I've got the rationale of a new york cop
I've got the patience of a chopping block yeah
Trip like I do
Trip like I do (oh my god this is the best)
I've got the lack of say of a billion souls
I've got the world on my back but I don't seem to care
I've got the comprehension of a world unaware yeah
Trip like I do
Trip like I do (oh my god this is the best)
Trip like I do (mm..i want you to trip like I do)
Can't you, can't you trip like I do
Can't you, can't you trip like I do
Laid down my back I can't sleep cause I'm falling
Eyes in my teeth I can't see cause I'm eating
Head full of noise I can't think cause it's crushing
Back on my feet like a freight trian I'm coming
Can everybody feel like I do
Can everybody feel like I do (oh my god)
Can't you can't you trip like I do
Can't you can't you trip like I do (oh my god)
Can't you trip can't you think can't you feel like I do
Can't you walk can't you breathe can't you trip like I do

The lyrics of Filter's song "Trip Like I Do" explore the experiences of someone who is under the influence of drugs. The first verse speaks to the mental state of the singer, as they describe having the understanding of a child, the mindset of a killer, the rationale of a police officer, and the patience of a chopping block. These disjointed comparisons suggest a fractured mental state, which may be due to drug use.
The chorus of the song repeats the phrase "Trip like I do," which is an invitation for the listener to join the singer in their drug-induced state. The second verse continues to describe the singer's mental state, as they claim to have the wisdom of a broken relationship, the lack of control of a crowd, and a self-centered indifference to the problems of the world.
The bridge of the song describes physical sensations that the singer is experiencing, such as falling, eating, and being crushed by noise. These vivid descriptions suggest that the singer is fully immersed in their drug experience, to the point where it is affecting their body and perception.

Strobe/black light combo plug and play and Our new and I mean new to the world JVC f5dr cd player or Somthing like that but it didnβt matter bc it had a blue light made on it.
So a quad full of folks that knew how to map out the underground parties.
A drawer full of mushroom fantasy.
And another great time brought to you by brick house nobodies.

The whole reason he wrote this song was because Trent Reznor told Richard Patrick "Hey I heard a pizza shop down the road is hiring" this is what I think everytime when my grandparents tell me someone is hiring
That's why this music exists cause someone wasn't kind? Could recognize his talent is greater, or as great as mine and I feel threatened, Wow, I love it
