Same but it was my sister. It was just so NEW to me and the music, the characters, the story, the battle system, the graphics, the themes it was great
I understood it pretty well for being like 10-12 years old haha

I used to watch both my mother and father play this game. They both had copies of this game after they had split up and neither of them beat the game due to separate reasons (my mothers boyfriend at the time loved this game and he was killed in a Drunk driving accident and he never got to complete the game or even experience the sequel of FFX-2 so when the remastered edition came out, I made it my goal to beat both games with 100% (excluding Celestial Weapons for FFX) and I dont regret the hours and pain that I went through in order to get those two games done. And being able to experience the game as an adult really opened my eyes to the underlying tones of both FFX and X-2. The first game is all about religion and your faith behind it and how the leaders can mislead and misguide its followers down a dark path (Yevon's leader in FFX was an unsent aka undead man who was so obsessed with keeping the sacrificial ritual for Sin going that he wanted Yuna and her party dead after finding out they had defeated Yunalesca the only person who can make a party member an Aeon to battle Sin). Yuna this entire game was actually the focus of the game, you dont really think about how shes feeling until Tidus inputs his feelings on the situation (since he was a newly added guardian he didnt understand what Yuna was ultimatley doing with her journey), so when he finds out she is sacrificing herself, he fights internally on whether to fight against her choice or to aid her in getting there and he ultimatley chooses to do both, he wanted to figure out a way to save Yuna but also getting rid of Sin permanently, which is where the most heartbreaking scene in FFX happens, the sacrifices of your Aeons in order to satsify Sin's needs for a new Aeon host. Yuna even went and got advice from Bahaumut's Aeon's original host (the boy that Tidus sees when you first play the game is Bahaumut basically calling out to him from A THOUSAND YEARS AGO WTF) and he told her the idea of sacrificing all the Aeons and while Yuna herself didnt want to make that sacrifice, the Aeons themselves reassured her that they wanted to do this for Spira. I think the Aeons were tired of seeing so many people sacrifice themselves for Spira with no real solution in sight, so when Bahaumut brought up the idea about having all the minor Aeons fill in the role of the main Aeon for sin, each one was fully on board which made the fight against them so much harder. I was crying throughout each fight with them because I didnt want them to be killed, they had helped so many people throughout their lives and now they are just being sacrificed FOR GOOD just to stop the cycle of sacrifice.
