Tim Finn was one of the founders of the band Split Enz, his younger brother Neil was also in the band for later albums. After they split Tim Finn went solo and Neil Finn formed Crowded House. Tim joined them on their third album Woodface, then left. Crowded House split in 1996 after one more album. Although both brothers were working on solo projects, they came together to release Finn, later taking on the "Finn Brothers" name, owing to a name conflict with another artist.
They released Everyone Is Here in 2004.

Always in my blood, forever in my eyes
Black window space a basket made of flax
Broken mirror view, let your eyes relax
Mist on my glass
Watch it all come to pass
Once again, we'll breathe in the view
Now my voice won't sing and my tears won't cry
Your disciple waits for any good advice
Our place in time, it's not set in stone
And we'll still be here where the cows come home
Mist on my glass
Watch it all come to pass
Once again, we'll breathe in the view
It's part of me, part of you
And it has to be clear, inside my head
And I'm still in a dream, in a dream that won't end
Once again, we'll breathe in the view
It's part of me, part of you
Mist on my glass
Watch it all come to pass
Once again, we'll breathe in the view
It's part of me, part of you
And it has to be clear
It has to be clear, inside my head
The Finn Brothers' song "Part of Me Part of You" is a contemplative journey through memories and emotions. The blue electric light that is "always in my blood, forever in my eyes" represents the singer's inextricable connection to a particular place - these green hills with their misty views that have become embedded in his very being. The broken mirror view speaks to the sense of fragmentation and incompleteness the singer feels, despite the beauty and comfort of the landscape around him.
As the song progresses, the lyrics become more introspective, contemplating the singer's relationship with his own voice and emotions, as well as his connection to others. The line "your disciple waits for any good advice" suggests a certain level of deference or acquiescence, but it's unclear whether the singer is the one waiting for guidance or the one offering it. The repeated refrain "mist on my glass watch it all come to pass" suggests a sense of detachment from the world - watching as life goes by rather than actively participating in it.
Ultimately, the song is a meditation on the self - on the ways in which our experiences, memories, and emotions become interwoven with the landscapes and people around us. It's a quiet, thoughtful piece that invites the listener to slow down and reflect on their own connections to the world.

La buena música no envejece y si algo sabe hacer bien Neil Finn es hacer música atemporal. Éste album tiene casi 20 años y suena nuevo.
