Bravo Mar
Fino Coletivo Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
Mar que ouvi a cantar
Sua voz no oceano
É doce de escutar
A cantar melodias
Mar que me conforta e eu te escuto
Mar que apavora meu olhar
Se estou distante desta costa
Nem sei respirar
Do mar
Sou marujo
Eu vim cá te admirar
Outra vez o acorde d' água fresca
Como vim de longe do além mar
Me comovo desta sua magoa
E atravesso essa sua água
Tudo de acordo com a maré
Só andava onde dava pé
Se sou dissonante nessa onda
Venha me ensinar
Do mar
Sou marujo
Eu vim cá te admirar
Outra vez o acorde d' água fresca
Como vim de longe do além mar
Me comovo desta sua magoa
E atravesso essa sua água
Tudo de acordo com a maré
Só andava onde dava pé
Se sou dissonante nessa onda
Venha me ensinar
The lyrics of Fino Coletivo's song "Bravo Mar" capture a deep connection with the ocean and its powerful presence. The song begins by highlighting the murmurs of the sea, comparing them to a sweet and captivating voice that resonates throughout the vastness of the ocean. The singer finds solace and comfort in the melodies sung by the waves, which seem to carry the fragrance of the sea in the air. The imagery created suggests that the sea's voice is soothing and evokes a sense of longing.
The lyrics continue to depict the ocean as an ever-present force, with its voice being heard in the clear cloud of water. The singer acknowledges how they are continuously drenched by the sea's timeless song. The mention of melancholy in the sea's voice implies a profound emotional depth associated with the vastness and power of the ocean. Regardless, the singer finds solace in listening to the sea's voice, both calming and terrifying their gaze.
The song takes a personal turn as the singer refers to themselves as a "marujo," a sailor, symbolizing their devotion and admiration for the sea. They express how the sea has become an integral part of their being, confessing that being away from the coast hinders their ability to breathe, symbolizing the profound impact the sea has on their existence. The mention of coming from afar emphasizes the pilgrimage-like journey they have undertaken to be close to the sea.
The lyrics also convey a sense of empathy towards the sea, as the singer acknowledges the ocean's sorrow and struggles, describing it as a wounded entity. They express a willingness to cross the waters and immerse themselves in the sea's troubles. The references to following the tide and only venturing where it was safe to step suggest that the singer respects the power of the ocean but is also open to learning from its dissonance, inviting the sea to teach them.
In summary, "Bravo Mar" is a tribute to the captivating, melancholic, and formative power of the sea. The lyrics illustrate a deep connection between the singer and the ocean, portraying the sea as a source of solace, inspiration, and even instruction. The song reflects on the singer's personal journey to find meaning and belonging in the embrace of the sea, acknowledging its immense presence and allowing it to shape their understanding of the world.
