And now, the end is here
My journey is coming to an end, and I'm ready to face it

I took responsibility for my actions and followed through on my commitments

I planned each charted course, each careful step along the byway
I thoughtfully and intentionally made the decisions that led me on my path

And more, much more than this, I did it my way
I am proud that I was true to myself and my beliefs throughout my life

Yes, there were times, I'm sure you knew
I am aware that there were moments when I struggled

When I bit off more than I could chew
When I took on challenges that were more than I could handle

But through it all, when there was doubt
Despite the challenges, I did not second guess myself

I ate it up and spit it out
I faced my problems head on and overcame them

I faced it all and I stood tall and did it my way
I persevered and stayed true to myself throughout the toughest times in my life

I've loved, I've laughed and cried
I've experienced a range of emotions in my life

I've had my fill, my share of losing
I've also experienced my fair share of setbacks and failures

And now, as tears subside, I find it all so amusing
Now that I am older, I can look back on my life with perspective and find humor in it all

To think I did all that
It's incredible to think about all the things I've accomplished and experienced

And may I say, not in a shy way,
And I say this confidently

"Oh, no, oh, no, not me, I did it my way"
"I accomplished everything on my own, according to my own beliefs and choices"

For what is a man, what has he got?
What is the meaning of a life?

If not himself, then he has naught
Without staying true to himself, life has little meaning

To say the things he truly feels and not the words of one who kneels
It's important to speak one's true thoughts and feelings, and not those of someone else

The record shows I took the blows and did it my way!
I faced my struggles head-on, and stayed true to myself throughout my life

Yes, it was my way
I am proud of the life I lived, and the choices I made along the way
