Neither album reached a massive level of commercial success (although both were critically praised) and the group disbanded in 1990. It was at this point drummer Butch Vig focussed his attention on production at his facility Smart Studios. The next few years would see Vig become hugely successful lending production to many hit albums such as Nirvana's "Nevermind" and the Smashing Pumpkings "Gish". In 1993 after putting together remix albums and writing new music with friend Steve Marker, they thought it would be fun to start playing again, it was at this point Firetown's Doug (Duke) Erikson rejoined the duo of Vig and Marker and after some auditions chose vocalist Shirley Manson to round out the band that would become Garbage. The rest is history...
Sadly for this band its music fails to get the praise it deserves, even today due to being in the shadow of the massive success of Garbage. For any die hard Garbage fan though, this is certainly a band worth checking out.

Fire Town may have had a short lease of life as a band, but this song makes them immortal. It gives me goosebumps every time.

Yeah, it's an excellent song.

The most incredible pop-rock songs of The All times
Georg Friedrich Händel
It's hard to believe that this band only lasted three years. They produced some of the best music of the decade during this short time. Who knows what they could have accomplished if they had stayed together longer.

Thanks for posting the lyrics... what a great number.
Georg Friedrich Händel
"Then he tucked the whole family into bed
Out in a corner of the yard
When the TV man asked him what went wrong
He said "I just got tired of being ignored"
That's pretty intense!
Dan Star
"Let the great Mississippi wash these hands
Of the tears we've cried and we'll start again
It's just the good life"

Terry Havel used to play this song on the Sun. nite music revolution in the early 90's on 102.1, I still go to this happy up beat song when I need a little pick me up.

I also think 1340 am the WARP used to play them, too.

Yep! Radio Chaos! Terry used to have his show on 93 QFM then when to Lazer 103. That WAS a great show. He introduced me to a lot of great music.
