Firefall was a mainstay, album-oriented rock band that put out a large number of hits such as "You Are the Woman" and "Just Remember I Love You" in the late 1970's. The album track from 1976's Firefall, "Cinderella", is a narrative about a man dealing with the torn feelings regarding his girlfriend's unexpected pregnancy and the negative consequences on the relationship and is one of the most controversial tracks released in the rock era.
The original line-up included former Spirit bassist Mark Andes, who later joined Heart, and former Byrds drummer Mike Clarke.
The band's releases were on Atlantic Records during their career. "You are the Woman" was featured as a notable track on the record label's twin compact-disc 30-year history retrospective that was released in 1988.

Take my heart and steal away
Place you above me, compensate you every way
Treat me in the same old way
Go on and leave me, get up and go
Hurt me like you never could
The way you deceived me always left you lookin' good
You been stealin', lyin'
Dealin' malice every day
You been feelin', tryin'
Hard to make your getaway
Tell me you love me make me believe
Everything you'll ever say
Take my tomorrow, give me back my yesterday
Treat me in the same old way
You been stealin', lyin'
Dealin' malice every day
You been feelin', tryin'
Hard to make your getaway
You been stealin', lyin'
Dealin' malice every day
You been feelin', tryin', baby
Hard to make your getaway
You been stealin'
Stealin', stealin', stealin'
The lyrics to Firefall's "Getaway" are about a tumultuous relationship between two people. The singer is asking their partner to confess their love and take their heart away from the pain they have caused. Despite the constant lying and deceit, the singer still longs for their partner to stay and treat them in the same old way, leaving the love to be unrequited.
The singer asks their partner to leave and hurt them, as they believe it would be easier than the constant deception. The partner is referred to as "Little Miss Misunderstood," and the singer acknowledges how they have been stealing, lying, and dealing malice every day. Despite this, they also admit that their partner has been trying hard to make their getaway from the relationship.
Overall, the song portrays a complicated and harmful relationship in which one person is desperately trying to hold on, while the other is trying to escape.

on Undertow
Tryin' not to lose myself
In the women and the wine
Tryin' not to change my point of view
Hopin' I can keep my feet
Above the waterline
Even after all my dreams come true
In a sea of motion
Water edged with foam
Clingin' to the things I used to know
Swallowed by an ocean
Sinking like a stone
But I'm drownin' in the undertow
Tryin' not to lose myself
In the glitter and the gold
Tryin' not to change the way I feel
Hopin' I can keep my head
'Cause I, I cannot keep my hold
Even on the lie that I know is real
Caught upon the waters
Of some dark and nameless sea
Whoa let the current carry me
Tryin' not to lose myself
In the fortune and the fame
Tryin' not to change the way I feel
Hopin' I can keep my eyes
On the things that stay the same
Disregard the things that I know are real
In a sea of motion
Water edged with foam
Clingin' to the things I used to know
Swallowed by an ocean
Sinking like a stone
But I'm drownin' (drownin', drownin')
Well I'm drownin' (drownin', drownin')
Well I'm drownin'
Caught in the undertow
Undertow
In the Undertow
Caught in the, caught in the, caught in the undertow
Caught in the undertow
