PROBLEM
Fireside Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

It's not a problem
Give me the answer

How can I get close to you
When all you do is push me away

It's not a problem
Well it's a problem to you
Give me the answer
And I'll give you the clue
Your at your hideout
You're only part of the new
Turning your back at your own side

How can I get close to you
When all you do is push me away

Your at your hideout
You're only part of the new
Turning your back at your own side
I'll turn the other cheek to you
And then you'll pay

If it kills you why don't let it slip away
Ain't it really just a way to hide away
In so many ways you and me we are just the same
Such a perfect thing to say when you hide your face

It's not a problem
Well it's a problem to you
Give me the answer
And I'll give you the clue
Your at your hideout
You're only part of the new

Turning your back at your own side
And then you'll pay

Overall Meaning

In this song by Fireside, the singer is addressing someone they wish to get closer to, but that person keeps pushing them away. The singer tries to reassure them that it's not a problem and asks for the answer to how they can bridge the distance between them. However, the person continues to hide out and turn their back on their own side, causing frustration for the singer. Despite this, the singer says they will turn the other cheek and give the person another chance to come around.

The lyrics suggest a sense of longing and frustration in the singer's voice as they try to make a connection with someone who seems determined to stay distant. The line "If it kills you why don't let it slip away" suggests that the singer is willing to let go of the need for this connection if it is causing the other person harm. Overall, the lyrics portray a complex emotional dynamic between two people struggling to connect.

1st. of all palestinian is a name for the arab population in the land of israel exluding arab-israelis, invented by yasser arafat in the 60s, they were just reffered to as arabs before that. this was an attempt to create a manufactured national idetity.
2nd. the general gist is that because palestinians want to establish a state for themselves, and don't see themselves as part of israel, Israel treats them like foreign nationals (because they are).
3rd. anyone with israeli citizenship is equel under the law, including arab-israelis who contribute to society like any other memeber. there are plenty of arab buisnesses and restaraunts. many practise medicine. there are even arab-israeli judjes in the high court of justice and members of knesset. arab-israelis are the only arabs in the middle-east who live in a true democracy.
4th. many arabs that didn't wish to fight in 1948 and that didn't flee to arab states at the request of the local arab leaders, retained their lands and became the ancestors of modern arab-israelis.
5th. the oslo accords (which were signed 30 years ago) gave the PLO, now the palestinian authority, legitimasy to a. represent the palestinian people and b. assert administrative and security control in parts of judea and sameria (also reffered to as the west bank). Long story short, that's the govermant of the palestinian people. these accords practically created a pseudo-state for the palestinians. the hope is that when they no longer wish to destroy the state of israel, they will be given full independance.
6th. Druze and arabs in east jerusalem also have a right under israeli law ro apply for citizenship.
7th. in 2005 israel withdrew from gaza and gave it to the palestinian authorities, which was taken over by hamas after they won the elections (and proceeded to throw their political rivals off roofs). because hamas, there werent any elections held by the palestinians authorities in the west bank for 16 years-ish for the same fear that hamas will take over. this resulted in the slow decline of the west bank into a dictatorship. I read that they abolished the high court of justice there a year ago.
8th. Terrorism from the west bank poses a real threat to Israel's citizen. the counter-terrorism efforts of israel generally always put it in a bad light because many terrorists hide in civilian infrustructure, even in the west bank, which sometimes results in civilian causlties.
9th I'm not an expert on immigration laws, but for non-jews anyone who lived in israel for 3 years can be given full citizenship if they demonstate proficiency in hebrew and renouce previous nationalites. (kind of harsh, but remember that as the Jewish state, israel, which is a very small state, can't really allow a lot of immigration of non-jews).
10th. a personal percpective: I'm an israeli Jew, I lived in israel all my life. I've had the luck to be surrouded by more than just jews. I did miletary training with christian-arabs and I study in university with arabs, muslim and christian. just a couple of days ago i had an appointment with my doctor who is an arab. Never have I felt "superior" to them, or see them as "lesser" to me. and I think they feel valued as any other member of society. I wouldn't say that arabs and jews in israel are living with complete harmony, racism is a problem that exists in any society with a minority, but the laws of israel do not discriminate against any lawful civilian. calling Israel apartheid, is just fueling tensions between the jewish and the arab population in israel. like many things said about the jews and now their state, its a blood libel ment to create hatred towards israel and the zionist movement in general. I know the topic of apartheid is sensitive to south africans, which is why we are seeing a decline in relations between israel and south africa, but please remember that this is a lie created by BDS aimed at people who are not familiar with the history of the conflict and the legal system in the region. If palestinians are discriminated against it is by their own government (which is more like a dictatorship).

I hope I was able to give you an understanding of the situation.

@@dialuz143Not really, unfortunately.
I’m an Israeli myself. I’m friends with Israeli Arabs and we get along really well- one of them even helped me before I started university.
My brother worked with two Palestinians, and was friends with them.
There are and were so many Palestinians working here, in Israel. Whether in cleaning, whether as workers in one of the biggest supermarket chains. Whether in home development.
And if that wasn’t enough, we let them take clothes from the secondhand store here. For *free*, before even Jews, settlers where I live, could get them.
This is only how it was where I lived, before this war occurred.
But in the places where the massacres happened, things weren’t very different. Palestinians worked in Israeli houses. There were even Israelis who drove them all the way to an Israeli hospital, to get proper care- just because they wanted to help.
And yet, that didn’t change anything. So much of the information Hamas had in the massacre was given by Palestinian workers- who told them all the tiniest details of the houses (whether they had a dog, how many people lived there). And that made things so much easier for Hamas.
So unfortunately, no. The problem isn’t that we don’t or didn’t talk enough- we did talk, and live together.
But when a nation is taught to hate another nation for no reason past them existing, there’s not much you can say to make peace.
That thought, and misunderstanding, is an equivalent to saying that people who were abused didn’t properly talk with their abuser, and that if they did, things wouldn’t have reached there.
The way the victims of the massacres were murdered weren’t because of misunderstandings- it was all because of hatred.
Because if it was only misunderstandings, there wouldn’t be so many mutilated bodies. The kindest people being murdered in the most torturous ways.

@ivansherbinin

it's not complex if you pull out history and religion from it.
it is not complex if people would not be able to lie and would only speak the truth ...speaking of which, HMS guys seem like the only ones who speak 100% truth but sadly no one listens to them.

this conflict is unsolvable unless people evolve. Unless people say "hey, I don't care who was right 100 years ago, let's work on finding middle grounds today".
and - that will never happen. It could happen in a Western mentality. As it happened with Germany when we realized - hey, that was horrific but how do we continue to live now when it's over with minimal damage?

the problem is - the moment you put oppressor/oppressed perspective into any problem it becomes unsolvable with a potential to ruin the world.
so, Israel-Palestine is really simple yet impossible to fix. I guess the only question I have for the river guys is - why do you think it will be any better for Palestinians if Israel is gone? You clearly don't care that the life quality of Israeli Arabs will go to shet but even speaking about "justice" for Gazans. Name me one stable neighboring country. In reality - the opposite will happen. You will run out of the monetary support (as you are an independent state now). And every single neighbor of Palestine hates you more than it hates Israel. And since it wasn't about you (no one really cares same as no one cares about Pakistan deporting Afghani refugees this same moment or about people that suffer in Syria/Yemen/Libya/ect) Egypt will probably wipe you out. B.c. Egypt will be HMS next target but unlike Israel. +Hezbollah will probably want to rule in the region when it can no longer be stopped. It's just this time no one will intervene to help you. Because no one cares about you. This is about hatred to guys that look like Ben Shapiro, this is not about making your lives better.

it's also beyond laughable how on "Palestine" flag they include Golan mountains, that were taken from Syria by Israel in 1967 war. I guess it belongs to Gazans now 😂🤣. Those guys clearly care about restoring historical justice (which means fascism, btw. "Restoring historical justice" = fascism. Just saying).

tensions always be in this region, If you are curious how it will look without Jews - look no further than Libya. People don't ask themselves those questions because this has nothing to do with Palestine. They don't care about. This is all about hate towards Israel and Western values.

btw. That precious mosque in Jerusalem HMS was launching rockets at (because they care SO MUCH) - you realize it won't remain if Israel loses, right?

I'm from South Africa. I know first hand about apartheid. I keep hearing that Israel is an apartheid state, this is what the people fighting to free Palestine always allude to. Could you please make a video explaining how they come to that conclusion. I keep hearing that Palestiniens cant vote, can't move freely, only are allowed to live in certain areas. Palestiniens can move from the West Bank to Gaza but can't move from Gaza to the West Bank or East Jerusalem. I've also seen videos on youtube saying they cant move between the different Palestinian area freely even if they get married and want to move to other areas they can only move to areas Israel approves. I don't know the dynamics. I don't know if it's true or not. And if it's true then why? I'm not particularly concern who's land is who's. Surely you buy a piece of land and live their regardless of your religion. Maybe you buy in your community maybe in a mixed community. Is it tribal land? Do Palestinians also live in West Jerusalem. Do Israelis live in East Jerusalem? Do Palestinians identify as a race apart from other Arabs. If a Palestinian wishes to live in Israel does he have to go through an immigration process. If he becomes an Israeli citizen does he still identify as a Palestinian. I'm asking Mr Dennis because I come to trust your judgement. Please provide some context.

There was a question about homeschooling etc. and she said homework is enough. When you homeschool the time that you put into homework would be the same amount of time you put into homeschool. There's a lot of preconceived ideas that aren't true about homeschool such as it taking the same amount of time as public school.

@OkTxSheepLady

So very true. When I was a “home bound student” in public high school the school sent a tutor to my house for two hours twice a week to keep me up with my classes until I was well enough to return to school. I was not behind when I returned almost three months later. Little time of the day is actually spent in instruction or learning.

@redblaze8700

The reason people say that the Israel-Palestine conflict is complex is due to the history. And it's due to the mistakes of long-gone empires.

@dialuz143

which makes it more simpler... you know the history and you know result of it and yet you keep siding to the people who choose violence...

if you will keep looking into history in order to solve today's problems you will never stop wars.
the side that should be supported is really clear. It's the one, that don't launch terrorists attacks. The side that build bomb shelters for their civilians instead of tunnels for their militants.
