The band began with a challenge to write and record an entire album within a single 10 hour studio session on October 1st, 2018. This session culminated in the release of their first album, "Ten Hours". Every year since, with the exception of 2020, the band has reconvened on the first day of October to write and record a new album. This tradition gave the band its name.
With limited time to write and record each album, the songs tend to be short, often with improvised and comedic lyrics. All of their albums have a runtime of under 30 minutes.
The band documents their writing and recording process for each album on YouTube:
Ten Hours
Gourmet Ravioli
Gotta Record Everything Good
CHAOS

First of October Lyrics
When the moon’s full, shake your jangly bones
In the darkness, howling with the wolves
When the moon’s full, shake your jangly bones
Let me hear “Awoo!”
When the midnight bell is tolling and you feel a chill
It might be a thirsty hound approaching for the kill
There’s no way to ward it off, you simply have to run
Fearing for your life, but isn’t it fun?
When the moon’s full, shake your jangly bones
In the darkness, howling with the wolves
When the moon’s full, shake your jangly bones
Let me hear “Awoo!”
Thought you were alone but now you hear a clacking claw
Turn your head, was that a pair of yellow eyes you saw?
Shortcut through the cemetery, almost trip and fall
Turn the corner and you’re in its jaws
When the moon’s full, shake your jangly bones
In the darkness, howling with the wolves
When the moon’s full, shake your jangly bones
When the moon’s full
When the moon’s full
When the moon’s full
Let me hear “Awoo!”
In the darkness, howling with the wolves
When the moon’s full, shake your jangly bones
Let me hear “Awoo!”
