Might seem a little far fetched but I'm hoping in later seasons of this show they could do maybe flashforwards to show the "present day" Gotham from the comics but in the show's continuity. That would be great.

I thought I heard (and think it would be smarter) that every episode or so, they introduce a character that COULD have the origins of Joker. His background is very vague and mysterious and when it is told, it changes a lot. I think they need to keep this in mind if they are planning on doing Mr. J.

They've stated that each episode will feature a potential Joker.
Each one will represent a different part of the Joker.
Examples they gave were a Card shark, a flower salesman and someone who smiles alot.

I don't know if its just CW but I feel like the shows they come out with usually have poor acting. I think arrow would be a decent show if it has better actors. Gotham and Flash are probably gonna end up the same.

I really like how they're doing the joker in this show but everybody is talking like he'll become a villain in the show. When he starts becoming a villain batman is around and then batman "creates" the joker so I really hope they don't actually introduce him just give us small hints here and there.

I have seen the first episode of this series and I was shocked that I actually liked it, which surprised me. I especially liked Donal Logue's performance as a amoral cop. We shall see if this quality is sustainable however.

They've confirmed that the comedian character MIGHT be Joker, but they've said that they're gonna introduce a character each episode that could be him, every one of them holding clues, like being a comedian or similar. And only one of them will be the real Joker, so the fans'll have to guess.

Yeah, a possibility. Though Geoff Johns cleared out that Arrow/The Flash won't connect with the movies. I personally am glad and I may be in the minority that doesn't want that to happen.

I hope the writers of Gotham have a little fun with the joker mythology. In Alan Moor's " the killing joke " the joker tells batman " if I'm going to have past I rater have it be multiple choice." The writers can tease a number of actors that could be the joker, a down on his luck comedian, a mobster named Jack Napier just like from 89' Batman or any of the past versions of the joker's origin in different media.

I really doubt there will ever be an Arrow/Gotham cross over. Actually, I'd say it's impossible even. *SPOILER/SPOILER** In the Flash Pilot (which is chronologically happening at the same time as Arrow) in the End we see "Wayne Tech/Queen Inc Merger complete" That probably indicates that Oliver/Arrow and Bruce/Batman know each other's secret identities and have worked together on a few cases. And seeing how Batman won't be in Gotham, I highly doubt a cross over.

For the Joker, I hope they hold off on his origin until Bruce Wayne comes back to Gotham. They could have the nameless comedian as an aspiring mob boss called Red Hood until Bruce goes undercover in his gang and accidentally pushes him into the chemicals. Then the last half season will be about the Joker causing anarchy, pushing Bruce to adopt the Batman persona. They could even stick the Joker in Arkham where he corrupts Dr Harleen and makes her an additional villain. Kind of the Ravager to Jokers Deathstroke if were talking Arrow language.

I don't think the comedian is The Joker. According to some reports, every episode or so is going to introduce someone that could potentially end up being the Joker. This is supposed to be the first of many potentials. Exec. Producer Bruno Heller even said that they do want to tease the Joker but that it won't be to that extreme. This is what Heller said "We will be playing with… Not just with Joker. Half the fun with all of these characters is who is going to turn into what and when? Certainly the Joker is a good example. In the pilot, you see there’s a comedian there. People immediately leap… And that’s really letting the audience do our work for us. Because I haven’t said anything about that guy and people go there! Yeah, we’ll play with that down the line. Not over the course of one season, no, because people will still get tired of that. 'Is that the Joker? Is that the Joker?' No. In a subtle way, we’ll be doing that and hopefully we’ll fool them in the end."

they also talked about Poison Ivy and why she does not have the same name as her comic book counterpart. Instead of Pamela Isley, she's named Ivy Pepper. One guess is that somewhere along the lines her character gets adopted and her name is changed and when she finally turns into Poison Ivy, she decides to reclaim her name in a dramatic way.

I heard that no one will ever be revealed as the Joker for the Gotham tv show but throughout its run they will tease possibilities. As with the comic he has never truly been revealed through a complete origin he was and is just The Joker. So even if they were to do an origin for him i think it would spoil the show if they did it that soon.

Technically that's only A possible backstory for the Joker, not THE possible backstory for the Joker. It is the most popular one, but Joker's given a few different accounts of his origins, much like in "The Dark Knight".

Isn't Arrow/Flash in the present while Gotham is in the past. How can they crossover?

Or will arrow have the end results? Like if you see them on Arrow it would be their future developed villain persona. Problem with that is ideas change over time and it would be pointing the Gotham writers very specific direction in terms of character development with no room for other creative avenues.
