Fishbone first assembled with John Norwood Fisher (bass), his brother Philip "Fish" Fisher (drums), Angelo Moore (vocals, saxophones and theremin), Kendall Jones (guitar), "Dirty" Walter A. Kibby II (vocals, trumpet), and Christopher Dowd (keyboards, trombone, vocals). They achieved their greatest success in the late 1980s and early 1990s, after which they went through many personnel changes. From 2003 to 2010, John Norwood Fisher and Angelo Moore were the last remaining original members of the band. In the 2010s, all the other original members except Kendall Jones rejoined the band for various reunions and anniversary activities.

This was a huge hit on my way OUT of DC. Class of '83 saw our senior GQ guys dressing like they were heading to board rooms,
not gag A-a-a-a-algebra classes. I didn't do linear well if I thought too much about it, AlgII only made sense when I was a sleep, so thank GOD for trig. It pulled my grade up and the math teacher is still wondering why I couldn't do it awake. He kept telling me to chillax, because I knew it....WELL. but couldn't write it down right.
He scolded me to appear awake after waking up to answer questions.
It was too funny by then. I never flunked anything and I wasn't about to let backwards methods take me out. I was like.

My claim to fame is that once Fishbone got me fired from Guitar Center in Chicago. I worked in the pro audio department. This guy came in saying he needed a bunch of microphones 'cause the group he did sound for kept smashing them. I asked what group it was and he said Fishbone and that they were in the store. I freaked 'cause I was a huge fan. We had a board up above the register signed by lots of big stars and I asked the manager if we could get it down and have them sign it. He asked if they had an album, I said yes (they just had the EP at the time). So, he said ok. I got it down and asked if they wanted to sign it. They were all super red-eyed and not caring much about my board. A couple of white roadies with fluorescent mohawks grabbed the marker and drew fishbones and penises all over the signatures of B.B. King, Eric Clapton and Elton John. I got fired next day. The story was worth that shitty job...

Rondo Brothers No shit! ropeadope records. That's the label that Snarky Puppy was on. I got turned onto Snarky Puppy about a year ago...jazz/fusion with hints of r&b here and there. a bunch of guys, most of whom met each other while in the jazz program at north texas state, one of the best music schools in the US. Enough about them. Thanks for the heads up. I wonder who all will be on the Angelo record. It's a wonder that he's never done a solo album before. Lack of funds probly. Unfortunately.

Claude Coleman from Ween, Boots from the Coup, Butterscotch, Tim Carter from Kasabian, Casual from Hieroglyphics... :)) it's a bit modern - it's got some beats and thangs-- but alot of great horn work and some really beautiful stuff from Angelo on vocals.. keep an eye out .. it's called Centuries of Heat... singles coming soon.. and a very limited run of vinyl available now for pre order.... :)))
