Five.Bolt.Main's debut album Venting was released on September 13, 2005. The band has gone through several line-up changes since its release. Roughly a month after the album was released, members Jason Chandler, Ben Patrick and Aaron Weleken left the group. Rock Ridge Music claimed "musical differences" and "unforeseen rigors of the road" as the reasons for leaving. However, the exiting members cited Chris Volz's alcohol and drug abuse. Kobie Jackson (Primer 55), Alex Cando (Darwin’s Waiting Room) and Ronny Paige were recruited to fill in, with Alex and Ronny later staying on a permanent basis. To date, the album has sold nearly 25,000 copies which some would consider to be a decent amount due to the lack of exposure the band had.
June 2006 also saw the departure of Ivan Arnold, following an infamous onstage physical altercation at Club Sonar, in Baltimore, MD with an intoxicated Volz. The band disbanded shortly thereafter, though reunion rumors continue to surface.
On October 10, 2006, Rock Ridge Music released an unauthorized Live album which was recorded in Louisville during Five Bolt's 2006 tour. Band members have made various public statements disowning the album, citing low production quality.
Most recently, a February 2011 Facebook post attributed to Volz expressed his desire to continue with efforts to finish material for a second studio album in collaboration with Ronny Paige. Other former members continue to refuse to work with Volz, due to concerns over the singer's alleged continued substance abuse and track record of violent outbursts.
FAREWELL
Five Bolt Main Lyrics

Self worth, has a place to hide
Push us back in corners and, make us fight you for our lives
Turn us into martyrs and, sneak up from behind
Bid farewell, human kind, time will tell if we can make it right again
Bid farewell, I won't mind, time will tell us how to make it right again
Distance, seems to blur the lines
Penance, wipes their blood stained minds
Turn us into martyrs and, sneak up from behind
Bid farewell, human kind, time will tell if we can make it right again
Bid farewell, I won't mind, time will tell us how to make it right again
Circle of life goes 'round again, leave me behind
Circle of life goes 'round again, leave me behind
Push us back in corners and, make us fight you for our lives
Turn us into martyrs and, sneak up from behind
Bid farewell, human kind, time will tell if we can make it right again
Bid farewell, I won't mind, time will tell us how to make it right again
The lyrics of Five Bolt Main's song "Bid Farewell" depict a seemingly unending cycle of conflict and violence in the world. The singer finds solace in the comfort of isolation and detachment from the chaos of society. The repetition of the phrase "push us back in corners and make us fight you for our lives, turn us into martyrs and sneak up from behind" suggests a deep-seated resentment towards those who force us into situations that put our lives in danger, leading to a loss of self-worth.
The chorus of "bid farewell" repeats like a mantra, expressing a longing to leave behind the brokenness of humanity and start anew. The lyrics also hint at the idea of redemption through time - "time will tell if we can make it right again" - which suggests that while the present may be bleak, there is hope for a brighter future. The song's title serves as both a statement of resignation and a call to action.
Overall, the message of "Bid Farewell" is one of frustration and despair, but it also acknowledges the potential for change and growth. Through its powerful lyrics, the song encourages listeners to reflect on the state of the world and their role in shaping it.
