Far From Home
Five Finger Death Punch (Best-Muzon.ru) Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
The moon is so perfect I fall on my knees
The darkness is worth it; it's all that I need
Rundown, the city lights are gone
It's the break of dawn he still won't respond
I'm lost in the forest, I can't see the trees
Swaying in the air, swaying with the breeze
Hanging by a thread -caught up in the strongest ties
Draining all my blood, don't leave me here to die
Men are beasts as said in the Lord of Flies, Simon says the darkness lies inside
There is no compromise
Open up your eyes the light is blinding bright
Put up a fight or you'll meet your demise
Lose yourself once or twice
For every paradise, there is a sacrifice
I can still hear the voices from where we roam
All the things that we say when we're all alone, woah
When we're far from home
When we're far from home
When we're far from home
When we're far from home
When we're far from home
When we're far from home
When we're far from home
All things that we say when we're all alone
The moon is so perfect I fall on my knees
The darkness is worth it; it's all that I need
I'm lost in the forest, I can't see the trees
Swaying in the air, swaying with the breeze
Praying in the day, praying in the night
Paying my respects for the unsated appetite
Bringing truth to the unstated wrong and rights
Letting loose all the things in the back of my mind
Open up your eyes the light is blinding bright
Put up a fight or you'll meet your demise
Lose yourself once or twice
For every paradise, there is a sacrifice
I can still hear the voices from where we roam
All the things that we say when we're all alone
The lyrics of "Far From Home" by Five Finger Death Punch convey a deep sense of introspection and struggle amidst the backdrop of physical and emotional desolation. The opening lines set the tone for a personal journey taken under dreary conditions—a relentless rain tapping against the clock at 12:08, indicating an inescapable stagnation. The singer seeks solace in nature, symbolized by the moon, which brings a moment of clarity amidst confusion. Falling to his knees suggests a surrender or a moment of vulnerability, indicating a reliance on the nocturnal beauty to find meaning despite the encapsulating darkness. This juxtaposition of light and dark initiates a recurring theme in the song, where the singer grapples with the balance between despair and the solace found in their surroundings.
As the narrative progresses, we witness a deterioration of hope mirrored in the imagery of a rundown city devoid of light. The dawn's arrival is met with an unresponsive silence, amplifying feelings of abandonment and isolation. Lost in a figurative "forest" where clarity is obscured—both literally and metaphorically—the singer struggles to navigate their emotions and circumstances. The repetition of feeling lost ties back to the journey being undertaken, leading to a poignant realization that they are caught in a web of emotional ties that are as strong as they are suffocating. This vivid metaphor of "hanging by a thread" encapsulates the precariousness of the singer’s situation, while references to "Lord of the Flies" introduce a philosophical consideration of humanity, suggesting that the darkness is an intrinsic part of our nature.
The lyrics then take a darker turn, urging an awakening to harsh realities—the "blinding bright" light representing truth and clarity that are difficult to confront. There is a call to action embedded in the phrasing "put up a fight or you'll meet your demise," indicating that passivity in the face of struggle can result in failure or deeper despair. The dichotomy between losing oneself repeatedly and the sacrifices necessary to attain a semblance of paradise echoes the complexity of existence itself. Each paradise requires a price, suggesting that fulfillment is often tied to the willingness to confront one's darkness directly.
Finally, the refrain of being "far from home" serves as a metaphorical distancing from comfort, safety, or a sense of belonging. It emphasizes the isolation experienced not only physically but also emotionally—a reflection on the personal battles fought in solitude. The voices that linger evoke memories or unresolved sentiments, with the song capturing the essence of shared thoughts that surface only when alone. The cyclical return to the moon and the nature imagery in the latter verses reinforces the serenity one seeks amidst chaos, symbolizing a search for peace. The idea of praying—both day and night—speaks to a restless yearning for solace and understanding as the singer reconciles with their choices and the burdens they carry. This emotional depth woven throughout the song reflects a timeless conflict between light and darkness, encapsulating the human experience of seeking connection while confronting inner turmoil.

You should, me also do you know
That this man put a stamp on veterans not receiving what's
Need not only that
They made everyone aware
Of those still on the streets, many
I served and was
Deployed also,
This is not for
Me, it's for my brothers and sisters out there
Still, I chose my
My path, I asked for nothing, as well
As in all respect,
But we're looked over, I bled for my
Country I would bleed for all of you,
That means nothing, well my
Hope is someone sees

Another day in this carnival of souls
Another night settles in as quickly as it goes
The memories of shadows, ink on the page
And I can't seem to find my way home
And it's almost like
Your heaven's trying everything
Your heaven's trying everything to keep me out
All the places I've been and things I've seen
A million stories that made up a million shattered dreams
The faces of people I'll never see again
And I can't seem to find my way home
'Cause it's almost like
Your heaven's trying everything
To break me down
'Cause it's almost like
Your heaven's trying everything
To keep me out
'Cause it's almost like
Your heaven's trying everything
To break me down
'Cause it's almost like
Your heaven's trying everything
Your heaven's trying everything to break me down
To break me down
To break me down, oh
Your heaven's trying everything
Your heaven's trying everything to break me down

I'm almost 60 and found out that FFDP music fits to everything I do. Now my neighbors don't like them because I sing along so loud they get tired of it. The only thing that disappoints me about FFDP is they didn't start their band 30 years before they did in 2005. Don't ever leave Ivan your voice is awesome.
