Not to mention, he graced the bills of festivals such as Austin City Limits, Electric Forest, Okeechobee, Holy Ship!, and Voodoo Music + arts, to name a few. In 2019, he began to widen the sonic palette. For the first time, he hit the studio with collaborators to architect what would become daymaker. He worked closely with an all-star cast of musicians, including keyboardist Borahm Lee [pretty lights], Jeff Franca [thievery corporation], Eddie Roberts [the new mastersounds], Hunter Roberts, hip-hop funk duo recess, Mike Tallman of funk and roots outfit euforquestra and the color red label, and more. Now, he introduces daymaker with a brazilian bounce, tropical house flavor, and chilled beats on lead single “wild summer.”

Walking softly holding hands
And I thought I heard her say
She loved me
As we walked I felt her eyes
Reaching deeply into mine
And I thought I heard her sigh
She was here with me today
Walking softly holding hands
And I thought I heard her say
She loved me
As we walked I felt her eyes
Reaching deeply into mine
And I thought I heard her sigh
She loved me
Reaching deeply into mine
And I thought I heard her sigh
She loved me
She was here with me today
Walking softly holding hands
And I thought I heard her say
She loved me
(Did you know, that uh, love is all around you?)
Flamingosis's song "She Loved Me" is a tender love song that portrays the feelings of a man who has lost his love. The lyrics showcase the intensity of the love he shared with her and how he still feels her presence around him. The first verse talks about how he feels his love's soft touch as he holds her hand, and he thinks he hears her say that she loves him. The second verse mentions the deep connection the couple had, and how he feels her looking at him, possibly expressing her love through a sigh.
The repetition of the first and second verses emphasizes the depth of his emotions and his yearning to feel her presence again. The final line in parentheses, "Did you know, that uh, love is all around you?" suggests that he has come to realize that love is a force that continues even after someone is gone. It serves as a reminder that love always surrounds us, even if the people we love are no longer with us physically.
Overall, "She Loved Me" is a touching tribute to the enduring power of love and the bittersweet memories of a lost relationship. It is a heartfelt expression of what it means to love someone deeply and the importance of holding onto those memories even after they are gone.
