The three girls were initially cast in the mid-1980s for a TV show to be called Fans, which was to feature chats and sing-alongs with guest stars. When plans for the show fell through, a project was started to turn the girls into a pop music group. The group was renamed "Flans" and their first album, Flans, was launched in 1985. Their style was mainly pop music and ballads although one of their albums (Cuéntamelo Dum-Dum) is somewhat child-oriented.
The group released a new album every year until 1990 when they separated, with a national tour and the release of their "last" album Adiós.
After their separation in 1990, Ivonne married and devoted herself to painting; Mimí and Ilse started solo careers, with Mimí also being the host for a TV show.
Rumors of a reunion started in 1999 and were confirmed with the 2000 release of Hadas, although further work by the group has been sporadic.
In 2002, the group changed their name to IIM and released a new album of Electronic versions of their greatest hits.
In 2006, the group returned under the name Flans for a good-bye tour "20 Millas Despues", with a final concert in Mexico City.
Meditacion
Flans Lyrics

tan sumergida
olvidando respirar
Veo
que al dejar afuera al mundo
yo me empiezo a encontrar
de este sentido
que alimenta mi buscar
Espero
en silencio un despertar
a otra forma de pensar
Estoy tan encerrada
tan elevada
que me empiezo a transformar
Amanezco
y me enciendo al vibrar
mi pasión espiritual
Amanezco
Espero
Y veo
The lyrics to Flans's song Meditación speak to the transformative power of meditation. The opening lines, "Estoy tan pensativa, tan sumergida, olvidando respirar" ("I am so pensive, so submerged, forgetting to breathe"), convey a deep sense of introspection and absorption in the present moment. The singer is so focused on her meditation that she forgets to breathe, suggesting a complete immersion in the practice.
As the song progresses, the lyrics convey a sense of detachment from the outside world: "Veo que al dejar afuera al mundo yo me empiezo a encontrar" ("I see that by leaving the world outside, I start to find myself"). The singer is able to find a sense of inner peace and clarity by disconnecting from the distractions and stresses of everyday life.
The last verse of the song speaks to the transformative power of this practice, as the singer becomes "encerrada" (locked in) and "elevada" (elevated). She is transformed by her meditation, and her "pasión espiritual" (spiritual passion) is ignited.
Overall, the lyrics to Meditación convey a sense of the peace and clarity that can be found through meditation, as well as its transformative potential.
