Walking In The Rain
Flash and the Pan Lyrics
Walking down the street
Kicking cans
Looking at the billboard
Also ran
Summing up the people
Checking out the race
Doing what I'm doing
Feeling out of place
Walking, walking in the rain
Feeling like a woman
Looking like a man
Sounding like a no-no
Make it when I can
Whistling in the darkness
Shining in the light
Coming to conclusion
Right is might is tight
Walking, walking in the rain
Come in all you jesters
Enter all you fools
Sit down no-no
Ogre, ghouls
Trip the light fantastic
Dance the swivel hips
Coming to conclusion
Button up your lips
Walking, walking in the rain
Walking, walking in the rain

Flash and the Pan (aka Flash & The Pan) was a New Wave / Rock band from Australia formed in 1977 by Harry Vanda and George Young, the older brother of the AC/DC members Angus Young and Malcom Young. Both formerly members of The Easybeats. In the UK, until the release of "Waiting for a Train" in 1983 they had been a one-hit wonder, which was coincidental as the expression, 'Flash in the pan', denotes something which is only briefly popular.

This ablum was full of great songs. I must have stumbled on it in Berkeley around 1979 and I still love listening to it.

Up above the sunny skies in south California
There's a wounded rocket flying high, heading homeward
It came from a hollow, under a hill
And soon there'll be nobody left to kill
In California

Just heard this for the first time last night. My 12 year old daughter absolutely loved it, as did I.

Vanda and Young. Aussie masterpieces. Without them probably AC/DC wouldn’t exist
The Wave Hunters
The sounds and the production anticipate most r’n’b music. It’s impossible for someone who hears this for the first time to tell that the song is from the 70s

I think it's "Order Ghouls"...which is even better

I'll always think Flash and the Pan are synth-pop legends.
Creative geniuses too, I think.

Always loved the vocal delivery on this song. It was a minor hit here in Canada when it was released and I was so drawn in to it's unique vibe.
Modus Operandi
During Covid-lockdown I had a long drive home on deserted highways. With this music. Kinda magic and unique.
