Freezer Burnt
Flick Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

you i won't show
yeah you know
doesn't make it easy on me now
yeah you know
if i wait to long
then i'm all freezer burnt

things i have done
make feelings numb
this isn't getting any easier on me now
what have i done

if i wait to long
then i'm all freezer burnt

wonder now what should i say
maybe i'll just keep away
i don't like the looks of what i could be
maybe i'll come out and say
every thing i want to say
i don't want to sit around and freeze

if i wait to long
then i'm all freezer burnt

Overall Meaning

The lyrics to Flick's song Freezer Burnt talk about the struggles in a relationship, especially when one person is hesitant to open up and show their feelings. The singer states that they won't show their partner their true emotions, which doesn't make it easy for them. They then talk about how their past actions have made them emotionally numb, and they question what they can say or do to make things better. The fear of waiting too long and becoming "freezer burnt" becomes a metaphor for the relationships that never take off because one person is too scared to open up.

The lyrics portray a sense of vulnerability and honesty, which can be difficult to express in a relationship. The use of the metaphor of "freezer burnt" is an interesting way to describe how relationships can stagnate and become stagnant if one person is not willing to take a chance and show their true feelings. The overall tone of the song is melancholic, with a sense of longing for something that could have been.

Additionally, the song's production was done at various studios, with different musicians playing different instruments, such as drums, bass, lead guitar, and vocals. The use of different instruments provides depth to the song, and the addition of the saxophone, flugel horn, and trombone adds a jazzy element to the song. The tempo of the song is 77 beats per minute, with the key being G flat minor.

I used to work at Tower records, and found this gem in a bin of give-a-ways.  The album was great, but I think the genre was saturated with artist that housed this image.  It's a shame cause I still play it to this day.
