The band consists of Charles McSorley (lead vocals), Jack Winn (guitar, vocals), Jake Lees (bass, vocals), Billy Fielding (drums, backing vocals), and Sam Malynowsky (keyboards), all good friends for years. Asked about their inspirations, Fling's frontman McSorley answers "I think we all share the love of the classics, pretty much any Beatles, The Clash, David Bowie, The Sex Pistols, The Kinks, Oasis and other such artists’ albums constantly inspire us and will do forever I think. Just all the good stuff basically."
So far, Fling are something of a British pearl sprawling onto the musical scene, with continuous local gigs around Bradford, festival appearances and 6 (as of March 4th, 2018) singles available via streaming devices. Their latest track, "Banjo Billy", debuted worldwide on March 2nd, 2018.

Let's Stay In
Fling Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
Fallen leaf, shadow of time
Touch the stone, drink the wine
Can't stop the rain from falling down.
We used to live without a future
Now my present state is useless
I'm folding up now
I'm folding up now
I don't know what I want?
Let's stay in, let's stay out
Upside in inside down
Down above up below
Let's go fast let's go slow.
Let's stay in, let's stay out
Upside in inside down
Down above up below
Let's go fast let's go slow.
The lyrics to Fling's song "Let's Stay In" convey a sense of introspection and uncertainty. The imagery of the "tree of green dressed in violet sky's" and the "fallen leaf, shadow of time" suggests a contemplation of the passing of time and the ephemeral nature of life. The line "touch the stone, drink the wine" could be seen as an invitation to embrace both the solidity and pleasures of existence.
The repeated phrase "let's stay in, let's stay out" captures a feeling of indecisiveness and a struggle to find a sense of direction. The line "we used to live without a future, now my present state is useless" hints at a loss of purpose or direction, perhaps due to the uncertainty of the future. The repetition of "I'm folding up now, I'm falling down" emphasizes a metaphorical internal collapse or crumbling.
