MICHIGAN - Flint Eastwood… Read Full Bio ↴THERE ARE TWO ARTISTS NAMED FLINT EASTWOOD
MICHIGAN - Flint Eastwood is the hottest up-and-coming band in the Detroit music scene. Recent dates with Dale Earnhardt Jr. Jr., X Ambassadors, the Suicide Machines, Robert DeLong, Stepdad, Jamaican Queens, and many more have launched them to the forefront of Michigan music, and their explosive brand of live performance will permeate the Midwest and beyond in 2014. Having recently released their debut EP, "Late Nights In Bolo Ties", the band plans to hit the road next year, and never look back.
ARKANSAS - Flint Eastwood is composed of rapper/singer front man Malik Flint, guitarist Marcus Meier, Drummer Philip Cottingham, Bassist Tyler Inmon and Synth/Keyboardist Jon-Michael Harper. Flint Eastwood is Rock/Rap. They take influence from bands and artists such as Kid Cudi, Big K.R.I.T, Beach House, Rage Against The Machine, The Roots, and more. In 2011, guitarist Marcus Meier was substituting at his old high school in Bryant, AR. One of his students was 18 year old rapper Malik Flint. Flint informed Meier that he was in need of a guitarist and a drummer for an upcoming hip-hop gig with his then rap group, The Weekend Warriors. Meier agreed to play the gig and decided to call up former band mate and drummer, Philip Cottingham about playing drums. After a few rehearsals, they played the show adding a hip hop/rock fusion sound to The Weekend Warriors performance. A few weeks later Flint decided to separate from The Weekend Warriors and work solely on his solo career. Flint, Meier, and Cottingham then started writing and playing together on a regular basis, recreating some Flintβs solo productions and molding them into melodic, riff heavy, hip-hop songs. Wanting to take the group step further, Meier contacted his cousin Tyler Inmon about playing bass. Armed with the essential pieces of a rock band, they started playing at local venues with their newly formed sound. The group then decided that a keyboardist could add an extra dynamic to their equation. Inmon contacted childhood friend and former band mate Jon-Michael Harper about playing keys. Flint Eastwood was formed. Toying with frontman Malik Flintβs last name, Cottinghamβs mother joking mentioned Flint Eastwood, and the name stuck. The band members vary in age from 20 to 27, and all come from different musical backgrounds

Sugar ass smoking shallow
A tattoo twink leather back pack
The straps will aways follow
Quick rear a vocal strain
I'm just a weatherman, it ain't gon' rain
Tens both ways like a freight train
So eloquently spoken
I will follow you in the darkest moments
Keep your eyes wide
I will follow you
Glitches on my radar
Patterns on my sonar
Got me like ooh ooh
Got me like, I will stay with you you
Glitches on my radar
Distortion in my sensors
Ooh ooh
Got me like, I will stay with you you
Smile so mellow
That assembled yellow
Jeans skin tight
Call me yoga mat
She chases through his shadow
I tell em
Keep your eyes wide
I will follow you in the darkest moments
Keep your eyes wide
I will follow you
Glitches on my radar
Patterns on my sonar
Got me like ooh ooh
Got me like, I will stay with you you
Glitches on my radar
Distortion in my sensors
Ooh ooh
Got me like, I will stay with you you
Ooh
Ooh
Run run run to the sound of guns
We will hide away in the trenches
Run run run sound the alarms
Run run run
Run run run to the sound of guns
We will hide away in the trenches
Run run run sound the alarms
Run run run
Glitches on my radar
Patterns on my sonar
Got me like ooh ooh
Got me like, I will stay with you you
Glitches on my radar
Distortion in my sensors
Ooh ooh
Got me like, I will stay with you you
You you
You you you
You you
I will stay with you
You you
You you you
You you
I will stay with you
The song "Glitches" by Flint Eastwood has a strong and powerful meaning behind the lyrics. The opening lines "Breed like freedom callow, sugar ass smoking shallow" convey a rebellious and carefree attitude. The next line "A tattoo twink leather backpack, the straps will always follow" suggests that the singer is an edgy individual, the kind of person who does their own thing and doesn't care what others think. The lyrics also mention a "vocal strain" which could be interpreted as stress or pain caused by the things they've had to endure to maintain their independence.
The chorus "Glitches on my radar, patterns on my sonar" seems to be a metaphor for the singer's struggle to maintain their individuality in a world that is constantly trying to force them to conform. The distortion in their "sensors" seems to represent the noise of mainstream society drowning out their true self.
The final verse "Run, run, run to the sound of guns, we will hide away in the trenches" suggests that the singer is prepared to fight for their freedom and individuality, even if it means having to hide away from those who want to change or control them. The repetition of the line "Got me like ooh ooh, got me like I will stay with you, you" implies a sense of loyalty and commitment to their own values.
Overall, the lyrics to "Glitches" are empowering and inspiring. The song encourages listeners to stay true to themselves and to never give up on their goals, even when faced with challenges and obstacles.
