2) Flower is a post-punk noise/pop band from NYC that existed from 1986-1990 featuring later members of Versus (Richard Baluyut, Ed Baluyut), French (Ian James, Andrew Bordwin), Cell (Ian James), The Pacific Ocean (Ed Baluyut), and Ruby Falls (Andrew Bordwin). Featuring the Baluyut brothers on guitar, James on bass, and Bordwin on drums, Flower was a staple of the NYC underground scene carved out by Sonic Youth, Live Skull, Swans, etc, utilizing the noise element of the aforementioned artists to deepen the textures of more classically oriented pop songs. Flower reunited for The Big Takeover anniversary shows in the summer of 2010 and again in July 2014 and are currently working on a new album, and have returned to performing live regularly as of 2017.

8) Flower was a Japanese pop girl group signed to the Sony Music Japan record label. Originally a four member dance unit serving as backup dancers for Exile, Flower added two more dancers and three vocalists. The new members were selected through a nationwide talent search by LDH titled Exile Presents Vocal Battle Audition 3 ~For Girls~. They made their debut on October 12, 2011 with the single "Still". They disbanded on September 30, 2019.

Overall Meaning

The lyrics of Flower's song Are You Ready? are about not giving up on one's dreams and facing any obstacles that come along the way with determination and strength. The first stanza talks about not being able to give up and not lying to oneself as it's too early to run away. The singer urges the listener to fight before even starting and find their dreams that may seem far yet reachable. The chorus talks about that by finding the key, the door to the beginning will open and the listener will be ready to head towards the future.

The second stanza talks about ignoring the naysayers and not showing how cheap one's tears are. The singer reminds the listener to focus on the important things and to dance to the music and feel the rhythm. The chorus is repeated, with an additional line saying that when the listener realizes the kindness of others and that they're not alone in their journey, they will be ready to head towards the light. The last line says that once the listener finds their last chance and gains a friend, their dream will be right around the corner.
