Flynn Adam Atkins, like you don’t know.
As one of the founding members of the highly renowned L.A. Symphony crew (currently on Gotee Records), and also as an accomplished solo artist and producer, Flynn stands out as one of the premier residents of Hip-Hop’s left coast.
With this latest solo effort, Dove award nominated Flynn offers the listener more of what the fans have come to expect from him over the years: intricate, neck jerkin’ beats, seasoned with just the right amount of honest, insightful and plainly innovative lyricism.
In Like Flynn is a heartfelt collection of songs that took shape over the course of life’s many ups and downs, trials and thorns. As Flynn puts it “This album has covered a time period where certain areas of my faith have been challenged, my career has been challenged… life has been a challenge. But it’s in these challenging times that I know who I am and what I believe… and hopefully that comes across in the music.”
In Like Flynn is impassioned and refined - an album that’s grown out of many dues being paid and life lessons being learned. On the journey of discipleship, it’s not unusual for us to be brought down low in order to be brought up high. It’s all about a deeper rooting in the truest joy, the kind that only comes from knowing Christ beyond our sometimes-difficult circumstances. When all’s said and done, Flynn is an artist and performer that takes to heart the words of the 37th Psalm: “Delight yourself in the LORD; and He will give you the desires of your heart”. This album is his unique invitation to the listener to meditate on that certainty.
With L.A. Symphony Flynn has shared stages all over the world with the likes of the Clipse, P.O.D., The Black Eyed Peas, Dilated Peoples, Jurassic 5, Talib Kweli, Xzibit, Public Enemy, EOMD, Pax 217, Stavesacre, The Visionaries, Murs, the Living Legends, Zion I, John Rueben, and KJ52.
As an emcee he’s worked with Prince Paul, Mario C (of Beastie Boys), The Black Eyed Peas (A&M), Fatlip (of The Pharcyde) Out of Eden (Gotee), L.A. Jay, Benny Cassette (Island/Def Jam), Mars Ill (Gotee), Pigeon John, Soup the Chemist, Blake Knight (ill harmonics), Royal Ruckus (flicker), Sharolok Poems, Joey the Jerk, Phonetic Composition, The Tunnel Rats (uprok), and Eternal Soul.
Flynn is also a prolific producer and songwriter having collaborated with The Grits, John Rueben, KJ52, DJ Maj, Rod Laver, Pigeon John, Soup the Chemist, Sharlok Poems, Joey the Jerk, CookBook & Uno Mas, Homestyle, Eternal Soul, Deux Process and Pax 217.
In addition, Flynn founded his own record label, Eartube Empire in 1996 under which he successfully released his first two albums Louder and Burntout, as well as L.A. Symphony’s highly sought-after marquee independent album “Composition No. 1”.
All of that to say, we know who’s in. And that’s just Flynn.

Got me laying in bed and I'm stairing at the ceiling
This can't be happening no I don't believe
I've smiled like this is this happening to me?
I see her face she accompanies my dreams
And there goes my heart back on my sleeve
I'm inside out out and I'm outside in
I'm inside out and I'm outside in
And oh Lord knows I don't want it to end
I gotta play it cool
can't rush in like a fool
I've done that all before
but oh my Lord
oh my Lord
please help me Lord
I got it bad I can't sleep can't eat
Just wanna hang with her
I got it bad I can't think can't speak
It's all become such a blur
I'm inside out out and I'm outside in
my hearts up on my sleeve again
I'm inside out and I'm outside in
And oh Lord knows I don't want it to end
Don't want it to end no I don't want it to end
And I just can't smile and can't pretend
Don't want it to end no I don't want it to end
And we both know we were more than friends
So lets not get it all twisted
it was so real from the start
And lets not get it all twisted
and don't let it fall apart
I'm inside out out and I'm outside in
my hearts up on my sleeve again
I'm inside out and I'm outside in
And oh Lord knows I don't want it to end
I'm inside out out and I'm outside in
my hearts up on my sleeve again
I'm inside out and I'm outside in
And oh Lord knows I don't want it to end
