Alto mean Tall in Italian
Grande actually means Tall in Italian
and Arnold Harding is right. Venti means Twenty in Italian.

So they call a small a Tall
They call a Medium a Grande...which is Tall in Italian
And they call a Large a Venti...which means 20 in Italian and that is because they are 20 ounce drinks.

This is why I make my own coffee, and If I want coffee flavored milkshakes I can make that in my ninja. there is no reason to go to starbucks. their coffee is way overpriced anyways and all those plastic cups can't be good for the environment. I have one reusable portable mug that goes everywhere I go and that's good enough for me.

See, this shit's why I don't drink coffee. Well, okay, I occasionally go for a frappucccino, but it's one I make MYSELF in the privacy of my own home at half the cost. Seriously, a good blender will give you about the same results, and arguably better since it's not put through the Starbucks wringer.

Otherwise, I just stick to tea to get through the morning. At least when brewed at home, I know I can trust it to not kill the coffee industry.

Always loved this one. But to be fair, their original sizes were short and tall. They added grande later on as a large size, then as demand increased, they introduced the venti, which means 20, as in 20 oz. Still one of the epic rants of all time.

I watched this when this was new. recently came across this and became nostalgic. and man it really made me realize how good and free YouTube was back then and what it is now. and we were in a golden age of internet and tv . sure wasn't at fast but we had more freedom to post and show stuff and on tv. arguably better cartoons and shows instead of live action sitcoms. was a more innocent time on the internet lol probably not so innocent but its not like this today. OK nobody in the comment section knows, so I'll clear the air. Starbucks originally only offered two sizes: small and tall. Then they introduced the largest size, called grande. Then they introduced the super-size cup called Venti (20 ounce). However all those sizes just looked stupid, take up menu space, etc etc. So they put the Small cups under the counter and you have to ask for a small specifically. For example, I like a little space left in my cup for cream/sugar so I ask for a "small coffee in a tall cup." So long story short, Starbucks has 4 sizes: small, tall, grande, venti. Consider it part of the secret menu. Oh, and if you're dining in you can have your coffee served in a proper porcelain cup instead of paper. You're welcome. Geez, now this foamy rant seems kinda ignorant, eh? That's because it is... ignorant. Nothing wrong with being ignorant - everyone is ignorant until they learn the thing they are ignorant about.

Starbucks is a place to be seen by other "liberals." As far as their coffee is concerned, I was unimpressed. Five bucks for a cup of coffee, then I'm supposed to pretend I'm an expert, and order according to their doublespeak. Tall, grande or whatever the hell extra large is supposed to be... My answer to them, as well as others, is that I bought a single cup brewer, bought the generic gizmo that can be filled with coffee of my choice, (no pre-loaded, expensive 'cartridges,' and the best part is... I don't have to go somewhere to get coffee. Hell, I can get "Starbucks" coffee at Walley World, along with other brands, including D.D. coffee. I don't have to know how to order "I'll have the Verinious Mocas per Lada Inconsequencious Blend." Starbucks is the Locus de Pretentiousness Peckerheadedness place to be... for self satisfied bureaucrats and academics. All puff and little stuff of value.
