Under a sky made of blue.
Don't be afraid 'cause that happens
Once in a blue moon.
Don't be surprised when you fail
In changing your life for a new.
Don't you be scared 'cause that happens
Once in a blue moon.
So don't be afraid when you're leaving
Something that you loved behind
'cause sooner or later you're going
To wipe the tears from your eyes.
Don't be sad when your conscience
Is telling you nothing but truth.
Don't be afraid 'cause that happens
Once in a blue moon.
Don't be afraid when you're waking up
All alone in your room,
'cause I'm so sorry it will happen only
Once in a blue moon
And don't be sad when I'm dying
Under your sky made of blue.
... But I'm so scared
It will happen
Once in a day for me and you.
The lyrics to Fool's Garden's song "Once In A Blue Moon" are reassuring and optimistic. They convey a message of hope to those who may be experiencing difficult times, encouraging them not to be afraid because such experiences are rare and temporary. The first verse addresses the fear of drowning under a sky made of blue, which could be interpreted as feeling overwhelmed by life's challenges. The singer advises not to be scared, as this feeling happens only once in a blue moon - a rare and unusual event.
The second verse speaks to the fear and sadness that can accompany major life changes. The singer acknowledges that it is natural to feel sad when letting go of something you loved, but also reminds us that we are capable of moving on and finding happiness again. Similarly, when our conscience tells us the truth about a difficult situation, it can be scary to face it head-on. But, again, the singer reassures us that this happens only once in a blue moon.
The final lines of the song are particularly poignant, as the singer addresses the fear of losing someone close to them. The repetition of "once in a blue moon" takes on a different meaning here, acknowledging the inevitability of death but also touching on the idea that these feelings of fear and sadness are only temporary. Overall, the song is a reminder that difficult times will pass, and that we should try to embrace them with courage and resilience.
