She's So Happy to Be
Fool's Garden Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
"All that I can say
Is I feel hungry"
And today she says
That all my hunger
She'll satisfy no more.
She says:
You're not the only one for me".
She's leaving sweet illusions
I'm all by myself.
And she's so happy to be.
It's too much freedom for me.
She has turned the key
And she gives it back to me.
And she gives it back to me.
And she gives it back to me.
She says
That all I have to do
Is to watch out for someone new.
She says life's wonderful
Some consolation that is.
She says "chin up,
Your life goes on,
You'll see
I'm not the only one".
I won't be persuaded
I don't see it that way.
Refrain
All that I can find
Especially in my mind.
It's some kind of
Perfect interference.
And all that I can see
My baby's glad to be
To all appearance.
And all that I can say
It's happening every day.
Away away away away away away
Away away away away away away
She has turned the key
And she gives it back
And she gives it back
And she gives it back
I guess
She doesn't like that lovesong,
I guess
She doesn't like that way.
She says
She doesn't like that lovesong,
She says it
And she walks away.
The lyrics of Fool's Garden's song She's So Happy seems to be about a relationship that has come to an end. The singer's partner tells him that she can no longer satisfy his hunger, and that he is not the only person for her. She is leaving sweet illusions, and the singer is left alone. She is happy to be free, but for him, it is too much freedom. She advises him to watch out for someone new, and tells him that life goes on. However, he is not persuaded and does not see it that way. The song seems to suggest the pain and confusion that comes with the end of a relationship, with one person moving on, while the other is unable to.
The song has a melancholic tone, with the singer feeling helpless and defeated. He cannot find any consolation in his partner's departure, and all he can think about is the perfect interference that she used to be in his life. The chorus is particularly poignant, with the repetition of "she's so happy to be" suggesting that his partner has moved on, and that he is left behind. The verses and the chorus seem to be in contrast with each other, with the singer feeling downbeat and dejected, while his partner is carefree and happy.
Overall, the song seems to capture the sadness and sense of loss that comes with a relationship ending. However, it also suggests that life goes on and that there is hope for finding someone new.
