Made For This
For All Seasons Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

When our heart beats loud
like the sound of a drum
We know that we are loved
'cause every beat is grace
We our lungs breathe
deep with the sound of
new life
We know that we are alive
'cause every breath is grace
Every breath we take

We were made for this
We made to bring
You praise
Oh to glorify your name

Now our arms reach high
in surrender
Our tongues speak to the
joy in abandoning all that
we are
To the Author of grace
In that while we were still
lost and broken sinners
You died in our place
So that we could live
A life that brings You Praise

Giver of grace we bring
You praise
With out hands lifted high
and our voices raised
The only way by which
we're saved

God of wonder and grace
holy are Your ways

Overall Meaning

The lyrics of For All Seasons' song "Made for This" express the idea of being created for a specific purpose, which is to praise and glorify God. The opening verse talks about the physical functions of the body, such as the beating of the heart and the breathing of the lungs, and attributes their existence to the grace of God. The idea is that every breath and every heartbeat is a gift from God, and therefore, a reason to praise Him. The lyrics then transition to the idea of surrendering to God in complete abandonment, as a way of giving thanks for the gift of life. The chorus reinforces the idea of being created for the specific purpose of bringing praise to God.

The second verse begins with a reference to the idea of being lost and broken sinners, and how God sacrificed Himself so that we may live a life that brings Him praise. The lyrics again emphasize the theme of surrender and abandonment, as a way of showing appreciation for the gift of salvation. The song concludes with a final declaration of praise and worship, directed towards God.

Overall, the song "Made for This" draws its inspiration from the biblical idea of being created for a specific purpose, which is to worship and glorify God. It emphasizes the importance of acknowledging and giving thanks for the gift of life, as well as the sacrifice of Jesus Christ which made it possible to live a life that brings praise to God.

For All Seasons Oh cool. Makes sense. Thanks!

For All Seasons

It did come out in 2014. We are just now making it available on YouTube so it can be streamed on another platform. We've learned that fans in other countries don't always have the easiest access to iTunes and Spotify. But, YouTube is pretty universal.
