Foreign Air is the creation of Jesse Clasen and Jacob Michael, who met in the late 2000s when their respective bands played on the same bill. They took interest in each other's talents and stayed in touch over the years. Hailing from North Carolina and Washington, D.C., respectively, the collaboration came to fruition in early 2015 after the pair, who were in between projects at the time, began trading ideas via Dropbox. The duo released their first single, "Free Animal," that November, followed by an EP, For the Light, in September 2016. A series of stand-alone singles arrived over the next few years, including 2017's "Lying" and 2019's "Wake Me Up."

I really love the song! It's like a mix between glass animals and Portugal the man. The lyrics are truly astounding... I've been experiencing the same feelings and thoughts portrayed through the lyrics lately. The feeling of liking someone and that person is cold towards you because they pretend not to have a heart. The shadows of your mind starts to play tricks with you and you begin to get thoughts that follow you around like shadows. Thoughts like worthlessness that you have no control over.
The last passage is quite powerful and self explanatory:

CAME BACK HERE AFTER 3 YEARS, i remembered the first time i saw this video. I saw this on my classmate's desktop playing, it was our computer class btw. I was attracted first at the art ofc and told myself i'll listen to this when i get home and so i did, best decision ever.
